The “General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised in 2020)” points out that based on the structure of knowledge association,cognitive ideas and core concepts,the teaching content should be reasonably organized to promote students’ in-depth understanding of knowledge.The unit teaching design starts from the whole,and designing a relatively complete unit is an effective way to realize the structure of the above three.The Ub D(Understanding by Design)model,proposed by American curriculum experts Grant Wiggins and Jay Mc Tighe,is an instructional design model that emphasizes student understanding,focuses on evaluation,and takes learning outcomes as the starting point.Teaching based on the Ub D model can promote students’ in-depth understanding of knowledge and improve their knowledge transfer and application ability,which is highly consistent with the emphasis on using unit teaching to achieve the structuring of knowledge content,cognitive ideas and core concepts,and promote the in-depth understanding of knowledge under the background of China’s new curriculum reform.Therefore,in order to realize the requirements of constructing structured knowledge set forth in the curriculum standards and promote students’ in-depth understanding of knowledge,this study combines the Ub D model and unit instructional design.The main contents of this study are as follows:(1)The research status and concept of Ub D mode and unit teaching design were sorted out and summarized through the literature method;The theoretical guidance based on multiple intelligences theory,constructivist learning theory,and goal theory is determined.(2)Through the survey method,the current situation of high school chemistry teaching was understood from the perspectives of teachers and students,and the feasibility of combining Ub D model and unit teaching was analyzed based on theory and survey results.The principles and strategies of unit teaching design based on Ub D mode are proposed,and the basic process of unit teaching design based on Ub D mode is constructed by combining the “ADDIE” model and reverse teaching three stages of unit teaching design.The expressive task of the "GRASPS" architecture is used as evaluative evidence in instructional design;Use the “WHERETO” element to code teaching activities,create real learning situations,and promote students’ in-depth understanding of knowledge and knowledge transfer and application ability.(3)Take “Chemical Reaction and Energy” as an example to carry out the teaching design and practice of units based on the Ub D model.Periodically assess students’ mastery of knowledge from the six dimensions of “understanding”;After the practice,the teaching effectiveness is tested through unit tests,expressive tasks and other forms.The results showed that the students’ level of understanding and test scores were higher than those in the control class.Finally,the relevant conclusions are summarized from the perspectives of teachers and students,and the shortcomings in theory and practice of this research are reflected,which need to be further improved in future teaching practice.
