Research On The Influence Of Information Technology On The Diversification Of Colleges And Universities

Information technology leads the technological revolution and expedites the reform of higher education.The diversification of universities marks the ecological level of the higher education system,and is the key to restraining the homogenization of higher education and responding to the requirements of popularization of higher education and diversification of the talent market.Studying the impact of information technology on university diversification is of great significance for enriching the theory of university diversification and promoting the practice of university diversification through classified management based on information technology.Information technology promotes the diversification of internal curriculum,teaching,and management methods in universities,as well as the diversification of external levels and types in universities.This study focuses on information technology and university diversification,from both the internal and external diversification levels.Firstly,by tracing the research literature on university diversification and the impact of information technology on higher education,the mechanism of information technology’s impact on university internal and external diversification is theoretically summarized.Then,based on theoretical analysis,a questionnaire survey was used to empirically analyze the impact of information technology on university diversification.In the empirical research process,the cross analysis method is used to analyze the impact of information technology on the internal diversification of universities;Using cluster analysis as a measure of university external diversification,we examine the impact of information technology on university external diversification,and construct a university classification model based on information technology.Finally,the case study method is used to analyze typical domestic and foreign cases of new forms of university running based on information technology,propose the development trend of universities with digital and intellectual characteristics in their diversified development,and summarize the development points and directions of university diversified development in university organizational innovation.The main conclusions reached in this article are:Information technology promotes the internal operation of universities,including the diversification of internal courses,teaching and management methods.At the same time,information technology also promotes the change of external evaluation of universities,including the diversification of external levels and types of universities.From the perspective of development trend,information technology promotes the diversification of school-running form virtualization,organizational structure networking,teaching and research activities.(1)In terms of studying the impact of information technology on internal diversification in universities,both theoretical analysis and empirical research have shown that information technology has a positive impact on internal diversification in universities,that is,information technology promotes the development of internal diversification in universities,enriches the curriculum system in universities,changes teaching models,and reforms management methods,Based on this conclusion,a series of suggestions are proposed to promote the deep integration of information technology in the diversified practice within universities.(2)In terms of studying the impact of information technology on external diversification of universities,both theoretical analysis and empirical research have shown that information technology has a positive impact on external diversification of universities,that is,information technology promotes the development of external diversification of universities.The constructed university classification model based on information technology can be used as the basis for university classification management and construct a university classification model.Vertically,it is divided into three levels: dual first-class,general undergraduate,and higher vocational colleges.Horizontally,it is divided into several major types of colleges,such as comprehensive colleges,and science and engineering colleges.On the basis of the above conclusions,a series of suggestions are proposed to promote the external diversification of colleges and universities in practice,relying on information technology for university classification management.(3)In terms of the research on the new forms of university running formed by relying on information technology,this paper summarizes the characteristics of the diversified development process of universities in the new forms of university running based on cases,and proposes the concepts and assumptions of digital and intelligent featured universities and network platforms for digital and intelligent featured universities based on the conclusion of the impact of information technology on university diversification,At the same time,it proposes the future development direction and suggestions for building a digital intelligence featured university network platform in China.
