| At present, there is a gap between the curriculum reform of primary and secondary schools and the real demand for talents in society. The key to curriculum reform is about the teaching practice of teachers. However, the traditional mode is still widely used by many teachers, though it has many shortcomings, such as passive learning, being difficult to be transferred and applied, and not motivating interest. In order to improve students’ ability of independent learning and develop their ability to analyze and solve real problems comprehensively, chemical teachers must adopt the suitable methods of organizational forms based on the characteristics of the subject to meet the needs of students. With the teaching modes continuously updated,Project-based Learning is the spontaneous learning in real situations, which not only inspires students’ enthusiasm for learning but also creates little burden for students. As a new kind of teaching mode,Project-based Learning plays an important role in optimizing the methods of organizational forms and realizing students’ independent learning and was focused on by many teachers.Based on Project-based Learning, this study redesigns some parts of "Chemistry and Society" in the new curriculum standard in the elective chemistry course and puts it into effect, aiming to focus on its effect on chemical independent learning ability.Specific researches are as follows:1.A chemistry elective course scheme based on project was developed.Combined with the requirements of this school, some parts of "Chemistry and Society" in the elective chemistry course series were selected according to Project-based Learning. The objectives, philosophy of design, the type of course and curriculum system were introduced in this paper. The design paradigm of the elective chemistry course was constructed in learning process based on the project.2.The elective course was redesigned and taught based on the design paradigm of the elective chemistry course. In the process of implementation, the ideas and concepts based on the project-based learning were integrated into the course.Students completed the project tasks and solved the specific problems in real situations. Finally, project retrospect and results presentation were complete;summary and reflection on the project were done timely.3.The effects on students’ independent learning ability in high school chemistry elective course were studied. The pre-test was conducted through questionnaires to evaluate the ability of students’ independent learning and post-test was carried out after the implementation of the elective course. It turns out that the Project-based Learning focuses on the thinking and practical aspects instead of passive learning and the independent learning ability has been improved to some extent. |
