Vocational education is an important component of the national education system and human resource development,shouldering the important responsibility of cultivating diversified talents,inheriting technical skills,and promoting employment and entrepreneurship.It must be highly valued and accelerated.At present,China is accelerating the transformation of economic structure and the conversion of old and new dynamics,and the industrial development has increased the demand for technical skill talents.The high-quality technical skill talents cultivated by higher vocational colleges have effectively alleviated the problem of shortage of talents and serve the industrial transformation and upgrading and high-quality economic development.Counselors in higher education colleges have long been in the front line of education and have close contact with students.They are the ideological and political educators,life managers and successful guides for students.For a long time,due to the influence of many factors,the normal flow of counselors in higher education institutions is too fast,which directly affects the process and quality of talent cultivation in higher education colleges.This paper is based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory,Two Factor Theory,and Expectancy Theory,and takes the counselors’ job satisfaction of higher vocational colleges in Guangzhou as the research object and investigates the job satisfaction of counselors in Guangzhou higher education colleges by using the short-term Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire.By compiling the survey data and analyzing the data using descriptive statistical analysis and variance analysis,it is found that the job satisfaction of counselors in Guangzhou higher vocational colleges is generally at a medium level,and there is still more room for improvement.It was also found that there were significant differences in job satisfaction of counselors in Guangzhou higher education institutions on different demographic characteristics,including gender,age,professional title,working age,education background,and monthly income;while there were no significant differences in marital status,but there were significant effects.Internal satisfaction is lower in job diversification,social service,job recognition,job autonomy,and job fulfillment,and external satisfaction is lower in policy implementation,salary and treatment,and job promotion.Combining the survey results and interviews,the paper analyzes the influencing factors of counselors’ job satisfaction in Guangzhou higher vocational colleges from the social level,organizational level,and individual level,and put forward suggestions to create a good external environment,improve the incentive mechanism of counselors,and make good personal career planning.It can effectively improve the job satisfaction of counselors in Guangzhou higher vocational colleges,stabilize the counselor team,ensure the quality of talent cultivation in higher vocational colleges,and promote high-quality development.
