| With the rapid progress of information technology and the high speed of economic transformation,the structure and mode of employment of workers are quietly changing as a result of the restructuring of production and the upgrading of production factors.As of December 2022,new forms of employment occupy half of the total number of workers,mainly in transport and mobility,internet knowledge,healthcare sharing and lifestyle services,with the number of online drivers having reached 437 million times.However,while the "reservoir" of new employment has come to the fore,a number of pain points in the industry have also come to the surface.The employment environment for ride-hailing drivers is not optimistic,with several problems such as imperfect management system,unsound social security system and unstable financial incomes,which affect ride-hailing drivers from realizing the employment purpose.The studies on the employment purpose in the traditional employer-employee relationship at home and abroad have yield fruitful results focusing on the three main aspects of equity,remuneration and voice,the current research on the employment purpose for practitioners of new forms of employment is relatively scarce in the academic world.There are mainly focusing on the algorithm of new employment models,high-quality development and protection of workers’ rights and interests,etc.Comparatively few studies have been conducted on the employment purpose of online ride-hailing drivers,and it is even rarer to correlate labor relations satisfaction with the employment purpose of online ride-hailing drivers.Hence,it has become an urgent focus of current research to explore the impact of the employment purposes of online ride-hailing drivers on labor relations satisfaction.Based on the historical background of new forms of employment,a wide range of relevant literature have been searched and sorted out in this paper,the research methods of qualitative research and quantitative research have been adopted to explore the impact of the employment purposes of online ride-hailing drivers on labor relations satisfaction.Firstly,the content about the employment purpose in the traditional employer-employee relationship was summarized by means of literature review,and meanwhile the differences between the employment purpose of practitioners in new forms of employment and that in the traditional employer-employee relationship were proposed with the help of relevant theories.Secondly,the first-hand information was obtained through in-depth interviews in the stage of qualitative research,the elements of the employment purposes of online ride-hailing drivers were analyzed through open coding,axial coding and selective coding based on the method of grounded theory,to explore the core category and its components of the employment purposes of online ride-hailing drivers,that is,equity,remuneration,voice,equality and career interests.In addition,in order to further enrich the research results,this paper also obtains sample data through the questionnaire method.the relevant data was processed by means of descriptive analysis,validity and reliability analysis,exploratory factor analysis,independent-sample t test and one-way ANOVA.Then,the research hypotheses in this paper were verified through the structural equation model analysis,and the final conclusions were drawn: equity,remuneration,voice,equality have significant positive effects on labor relations satisfaction,and the effect of remuneration was the most significant;there is no significant positive effect between career interests and labor relations satisfaction.Finally,according to the research conclusions of path coefficient analysis as well as difference examination analysis,some corresponding suggestions were put forward from four aspects,which are equity,remuneration,voice,equality and career interests respectively.The innovative point of this paper is as follows: firstly,innovations in perspective.Based on the research about human resource management and labor relations,the method of grounded theory was adopted to extract the elements of the employment purposes of online ride-hailing drivers.That is,the employment purposes including equity,remuneration,voice,equality and career interests were put forward in this paper,constructing a theoretical framework for the employment purposes.Secondly,innovation in research communities.As an important part of the group of new employment patterns,relatively little research has been conducted on the labor relations of online ride-hailing drivers.This article examines the relevant content from the subject of online ride-hailing drivers with empirical data as a supplement to the issues related to labor relations in the online ride-hailing industry under the new employment pattern.Thirdly,innovation in antecedent research.At present,studies on the antecedent variables of labor relations satisfaction mainly focus on ethical atmosphere within the organization and so on.But there is no research that integrates the individual’s point of view,a structural equation model was used to discuss the impact of employment purposes on labor relations satisfaction and meanwhile expand the antecedent category of studies on labor relations satisfaction. |
