Objective:The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of adolescents’ physical exercise behavior,self-control,and subjective well-being in Jinhua City,Zhejiang Province,to understand the basic characteristics of adolescents’ physical exercise behavior,self-control,and subjective well-being,and to further explore the relationship between the three. The research hypothesized to construct a mediator model of three variables, namely physical exercise,self-control,and subjective well-being,to explore the impact mechanism of physical exercise on subjective well-being,to verify the mediating role of self-control between physical exercise and subjective well-being of adolescents. To provide a theoretical basis for promoting the formation of physical exercise behavior in adolescents from the perspective of improving their self-control and enhancing their subjective well-being.Methods:Based on a cross-sectional study,a multi-stage stratified cluster sampling and convenient sampling method were used to select adolescents aged 12 to 18 in Jinhua urban area for investigation.Using a questionnaire to investigate the demographic and sociological variables of adolescents;Adolescent physical exercise was measured using the Physical Activity Rating Scale(PARS-3);Adolescents’ self control was measured using the Self Control Scale;Adolescents’ subjective well-being was measured using the "Subjective Wellbeing Scale".Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted on demographic and sociological characteristics, adolescent physical exercise levels, self control, and subjective well-being survey data.Using regression analysis, test and analyze the mediating effect of self control.Results:(1)Of the 1118 respondents,558 were male and 560 were female. The survey results show that the overall level of physical exercise among adolescents is at a medium to low level, the overall level of self control is at a medium level, and the subjective well-being is at a medium level.(2)There were significant gender differences in physical exercise, self control, and subjective well-being among adolescents(p<0.001);There were significant differences in grades(p<0.001);The subjective well-being of adolescents has significant differences in the amount, intensity, time, and frequency of physical exercise(p<0.001);There is significant difference in the amount of self-control physical exercise among adolescents(p<0.001).(3)The correlation between physical exercise, subjective well-being,and self-control among adolescents: There was a significant positive correlation between physical exercise and subjective well-being(p<0.001),There was a significant positive correlation between exercise intensity, time, frequency, and subjective well-being(p<0.001),(p<0.001),and(p<0.001),respectively;There was a positive correlation between physical exercise and self control(p<0.01),There was a significant positive correlation between exercise time and self-control(p<0.05);There was a positive correlation between self-control and subjective well-being(p<0.001).(4)Further linear regression model analysis of three variables shows that: Physical exercise has a significant positive predictive effect on subjective well-being,β The coefficient is 0.185(T=6.272,p<0.001);Physical exercise has a significant positive predictive effect on self control,β The coefficient is 0.81(T=2.706,p<0.01);Self control has a significant positive predictive effect on subjective well-being β The coefficient is0.208(T=7.095,p<0.001).(5)Self control plays a mediating role between physical exercise and subjective well-being,The total and direct effects of self-control on the mediating effect of physical exercise on subjective well-being in adolescents were 0.0174 and 0.0159,respectively,The indirect effect of self control was 0.0015,Self control has a mediating effect between physical exercise and subjective well-being.Conclusion:(1)The level of physical exercise among adolescents in Jinhua City is at a medium to low level. The level of subjective well-being is at a moderate level.Overall, self control is at a moderate level.Among adolescents, male students have higher levels of physical exercise,self-control,and subjective well-being than female students. The level of physical exercise, self control, and subjective well-being of lower grade adolescents are generally higher than those of higher grade adolescents.(2)There is a strong correlation between physical exercise and subjective well-being among adolescents in Jinhua City. There is a strong correlation between physical exercise and self-control among adolescents. There is a strong correlation between self-control and subjective well-being in adolescents.Physical exercise can positively predict adolescents’ subjective well-being and self-control.Self control can positively predict adolescents’ subjective well-being.(3)Physical exercise can not only directly affect the subjective well-being of adolescents, and can have indirect effects through self control,That is,self-control has a mediating effect between physical exercise and adolescents’ subjective well-being.
