With the development of the times,the country’s emphasis on science and technology has been increasing.Universities led by Tsinghua University have also opened the major of history of science in undergraduate education after 2022.The middle school stage,as the basic stage of cultivating students’ historical literacy,requires teachers to further study the content of the history of science and technology.Therefore,it is of certain research significance to sort out,analyze and summarize the commonalities based on the content of the history of science and technology in history textbooks.At present,there is still a gap in the academic research in this area.The research on the evolution of the content of the history of science and technology in the diachronic textbook text can theoretically complement and expand the deficiencies of the current research,and effectively promote the current history classroom teaching in junior and senior high schools.This article selects eight sets of high school history textbooks with extensive influence in different eras since the establishment of the Republic of China,and conducts research and discussion on them from four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,mainly explaining the reasons for choosing the topic,research methods,concept definition,research status,and other contents.The second chapter is an analysis of the reasons for the evolution of the content of history of science and technology in middle school history textbooks since the Republic of China.It mainly explains the reasons for the changes in the content of history of science and technology in history textbooks from three perspectives: the background of the times,curriculum standards,and the development of science and technology.The third chapter is the evolution of the content of history of science and technology in middle school history textbooks since the Republic of China.The first section provides a brief overview of the development process of Chinese history textbooks and the eight sets of history textbooks selected in this study.The following five sections describe the changes of the history of science and technology in history textbooks since the Republic of China from five perspectives: scientific and technological content,editing style,content quantity,historical thinking,text auxiliary system.The seventh section summarizes the changing characteristics of the content of the history of science and technology.The fourth chapter summarizes the value given to the current history course teaching based on this study,including changing teaching concepts and flexibly applying various teaching methods.In general,through this study,it can be concluded that the content change of the history of science and technology in history textbooks since the Republic of China has its own unique development trend,which has been developing continuously.Among them,the latest unified history textbook provides an excellent example for the teaching of the history of science and technology in terms of content structure and content selection,but the novel topic selection and arrangement method also provide challenges for history teachers’ teaching,which requires continuous experiment and improvement in history teaching practice.
