Research On Social Adaptation Of The Elderly Floating Population

With the advancement of urbanization,the trend of family mobility is strengthened,and the number of old floating population is rising gradually.For the elderly population,regional migration has changed their living environment,and the aging of the body and the solidified concept make them face the difficulty of adjusting to the new environment,often difficult to adapt to the new environment or unable to adapt to it.However,the current academic research on the social adaptation of the floating population mainly focuses on the youth,migrant workers and other groups,and pays little attention to the social adaptation of the elderly floating population group.With the continuous expansion of the size of the elderly floating population group,the social adaptation of this group will become a social problem that cannot be ignored.This study mainly studies the social adaptation of the elderly floating population.The elderly floating population in V community of Guiyang City is selected as the research object.Interview method and participation observation method are adopted to study the social adaptation of the elderly floating population from four aspects:economic adaptation,life adaptation,social relationship adaptation and psychological adaptation from the perspective of social adaptation theory.It is found that the economic pressure of the elderly floating population is not great in their economic adaptation,but there are problems such as complicated medical insurance reimbursement procedures in different places and lack of social welfare.In their adaptation to life,the inadaptability of the elderly floating population is mainly manifested as the difference between their children’s life style,the difference in consumption concept,the pressure of raising children from other generations and so on.In the adaptation of social relations,the elderly floating population appear to be separated from each other,lack of family interaction,indifferent neighborhood relationship,weak community connection and so on.In terms of psychological adaptation,the elderly floating population can not be positioned among locals and outsiders,and wander between returning home and the city for the aged.In general,the elderly floating population is facing difficulties in adapting to the economy,life,social relations and psychology in the places where they move.The main reasons for the difficulties are the restriction of the principle of regional management of social welfare,the inequality of family intergenerational relations and the unsound community management system.Based on the analysis of the difficulties and causes of social adaptation of the elderly floating population,this study proposes countermeasures and suggestions to promote the social adaptation of the elderly floating population.By breaking the principle of territorial management and ensuring the equal social welfare of the elderly floating population and the local elderly people,we can deal with the difficulties of economic adaptation of the elderly floating population.In order to solve the dilemma of life adaptation of the elderly floating population,we should cultivate the initiative of the elderly floating population,give full play to their subjective initiative,cooperate with the family and keep their personal space for the elderly floating population.Children should strengthen the awareness of respecting the elderly and caring for the elderly,and communities should build social Bridges for the elderly and break the social ice to cope with the difficulties of the elderly floating population in adapting to social communication.To solve the psychological adaptation dilemma of the elderly floating population,we should improve the level of community management,bring the elderly floating population into the service objects of the community and strengthen the sense of belonging.In short,the elderly floating population is not an isolated social phenomenon,but a new social phenomenon emerging gradually in the process of our country’s economic and social development,which is the inevitable result of factors such as urban-rural binary segmentation,rural family pension model disintegration.Related to population,social policy,social work and other fields,the problem of social adaptation of the elderly floating population can not only rely on one side of the efforts to solve,need multi-subject comprehensive efforts to improve the social adaptation of the elderly floating population.
