In the context of promoting the modernization of Chinese-style higher education,Chinese universities need to take "first-class" as a strategic orientation, strengthening the internal governance capacity of the university."Moving towards pluralistic and good governance" is one of the core elements of university internal governance modernization."Co-governance" within universities needs to link the interests of multiple stakeholders. At the same time, the "democratic principle" is guided by the value of the organization, and the internal governance operation of the university is guaranteed by institutionalized rules,so as to realize the multi-directional interaction of all parties. This "co-governance" focuses on shared goals and realistic pursuits among multiple stakeholders within the university.Among the multiple subjects within the university, the main position of students cannot be ignored, they should be important participants in the internal governance of the university, and the main force to promote the formation of the "co-governance" pattern of internal governance of the university.Guided by the "student-centered" educational philosophy, many universities increasingly pay attention to student participation within universities and making it the focus of internal governance reform. In recent years, relevant literature studies have shown that student participation is faced with problems such as weak participation initiative and imperfect mechanisms internal participation of universities. Therefore,it is of great significance for modern universities to attach importance to students’ relevant interests, improve the governance structure, and promote good governance. This study takes student participation behavior as the "starting point",and first investigates the basic situation of student participation in internal governance behavior of universities.Secondly,on the basis of reference to the TPB model and MOA model, relevant factor variables are introduced.Starting from the conceptual analysis, the core concepts related to students’ motivation, opportunities, abilities and collectivist culture are defined, and a model of the behavioral influencing factors of students’ participation in university covering six variables such as participation motivation is constructed.Based on this, the questionnaire was designed and the questionnaire survey was implemented, and the SPSS25.0 statistical analysis software was used to conduct empirical research on the collected data, hypothesis testing and analysis, and analyze the factors affecting students’ participation behavior and the relationship between various factors.According to survey data, students’ participation behavior is affected by various factors such as participation opportunity, participation ability, participation motivation and willingness to participate, and the collectivist culture plays a certain regulating role in the generation path of students’ participation behavior. At the same time, there are problems such as shallow participation level, lagging participation feedback, insufficient cultivation of students’ participation ability, and insufficient shaping of participatory campus cultural atmosphere.According to the relevant research conclusions, the practice path of scientific and rational student participation is mainly summarized in the following aspects: 1.Implement the status of students as the main body and promote the institutionalization of student participation;2.Focus on cultivating students’ ability to participate in "co-governance" within the university;3.Open up democratic communication channels and establish an interactive communication governance model with student participation;4.Create a benign governance environment and shape a participatory atmosphere based on a collectivist culture.
