Our Party and country always have attached great importance to the problem of students’ mental health.In the past,researches on students’ mental health problems mainly focus on the diagnosis or intervention of students’ psychological problems.However students,as the subjects of psychological problems,their own ideas are very important to solve the psychological problems effectively.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the view of middle school students on psychological problems.The view of psychological problems of middle school students,which refers to the way how an individual views and define psychological problems and it’s an application of an individual’s own theory of mind.Through the review of relevant literature and measurement tools at home and abroad,a psychometric scale is made to explore and measure the view of middle school students on psychological problems.Other studies have shown that self-esteem is a key factor affecting individuals’ psychological and cognitive development.Therefore,this study uses Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale(SES),with high reliability and validity,to investigate the status quo of self-esteem of middle school students,so as to prove the impact of self-esteem on students’ outlook on psychological problems.This study will be divided into three parts.Study 1 and Study 2 are carried out with middle school students as the research objects,self-made View on Psychological Problems Scale for Middle School Students as the measurement tool and 923 students in Fuzhou as valid participants.These two studies aim to investigate how middle school students’ views on psychological problems are related with their overall characteristics of view on psychological problems and their self-esteem status quo.In Study 3,32 middle school students and 28 middle school psychology teachers are interviewed to explore the causes and contributing factors in middle school students’ view of psychological problems,and to provide guidance for the practice of mental health education.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)At present,middle school students attach most importance to behavioral problems,and their views on psychological problems are significantly different in gender and grade.Boys attach more importance to cognitive problems than girls.Year 1 students of middle schools attach more importance to behavioral problems than Year 2 students,and Year 1 and 2 senior high students.Students in grade 2 of senior high schools attach more importance to cognitive problems than those in grade 1 and 2 of middle school and senior high grade 1.(2)Middle school students think the severity of psychological problems of their current classmates is at a medium level,and the effectiveness of mental health education courses is average.(3)The self-esteem of middle school students is basically at a middle level,and there are significant differences in gender,sibling and grade.The self-esteem of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.The self-esteem level of non-only children is significantly higher than that of only children.The self-esteem level of middle school grade two and senior high grade one is significantly higher than that of senor high grade two.(4)The self-esteem level of middle school students is positively correlated with their emphasis on cognitive problems and has a positive predictive effect,while it is negatively correlated with their emphasis on behavioral problems and has no significant predictive effect.(5)The self-esteem level of middle school students has a significant positive correlation with their views on the severity of students’ psychological problems and has a positive predictive effect,while it has a significant negative correlation with their views on the effectiveness of mental health education courses and has a negative predictive effect.(6)The contributing factors on middle school students’ view of psychological problems include family education,educational resources,social media and network resources,and peers’ views.
