The rapid development of science and technology in the past 100 years has injected new power into the teaching of various disciplines in the field of education.How to make technology better empower teaching has become a topic of concern to current education researchers.Chemistry is a subject covering macroscopic matter and microscopic particles,with a large number of abstract concepts.For learners,the traditional teaching mode is difficult to help them understand knowledge,which will lead to lower learning effectiveness.Therefore,it is urgent to inject new ideas into the reform of chemistry teaching approaches.As a "portable" virtual reality,SVVR can create a real learning environment for learners,so that learners can understand the concept of knowledge in the process of human-computer interaction,but learners in SVVR may produce higher cognitive load.Therefore,the inquiry learning strategy is integrated with SVVR to develop a approach that can carry out inquiry learning in a virtual learning environment supported by SVVR,and scaffolding is added to assist inquiry learning,in order to help learners to be able to use SVVR support.It organizes and integrates knowledge in the learning environment,and realizes the construction of the meaning of knowledge,so as to improve the students’ chemistry learning effect.This study revolves around two core questions,"How to carry out inquiry-based learning activities in a virtual learning environment supported by SVVR?" and "How does the scaffolding-based inquiry SVVR approach affect learning effectiveness?" In order to answer the above two questions,the main work of this research includes the following two aspects:The first is to explore the approach of implementing inquiry-based learning in the virtual learning environment supported by SVVR.Based on the theoretical results of the existing research,this research analyzes the application of virtual reality technology in the field of education,the research results of inquiry learning in the virtual reality environment and the scaffolding-based inquiry learning through literature reading and sorting,and explores and develops a scaffolding-based inquiry SVVR approach.The main results are as follows: Inquiry-based learning in the virtual learning environment supported by SVVR mainly includes four elements: finding problems,making assumptions,investigating and verifying,and discussion.Support inquiry-based learning activities in virtual learning environments.The second is to explore the impact of scaffolding-based inquiry SVVR approach on learning effectiveness.On the basis of the first research question,some knowledge points of junior high school chemistry are selected,the SVVR learning system supporting inquirybased learning is developed,and quasi-experimental research is carried out.The experimental group used the scaffolding-based inquiry SVVR approach,the control group I used the SVVR approach without inquiry learning,and the control group II used the traditional learning approach.The research results show that the scaffolding-based inquiry SVVR approach can improve the learners’ chemistry academic performance,learning motivation,learning attitude and creative thinking tendency while reducing the learners’ cognitive load,and summed up the inquiry-based learning behavior model that promotes the effectiveness of chemistry learning.
