A Practical Study On The Intervention Of Group Work In The Home Safety Of Empty-nesters

The aging degree of Chinese society is deepening,and the number of elderly people is increasing.Due to the change of lifestyle and family concept,the number of empty-nester families is gradually increasing,home care is still the most basic way for the elderly to provide for the aged,and the home security problem derived from this can not be underestimated.Empty-nesters not only have the characteristics of elderly people with reduced physical function and self-care ability,but also lack of daily care,so the problem of home safety is more prominent for them.Empty-nesters facing all kinds of safety problem,a social worker with the method of group work is involved,hope that through ascension empty-nesters safety consciousness,expand the empty nest old man’s house home safety knowledge,improve empty nester family safety protection ability,to promote the empty-nesters the purpose to solve the problem of safety.This study takes empty-nesters in H Community,Sang ’ming city,Fujian Province as the research object,adopts questionnaire method,interview method and observation method as the research method to study the specific implementation process of group work intervention in the improvement of home safety of empty-nesters.First of all,the basic situation of some empty-nesters in H community and their home safety were investigated by means of household interview and questionnaire,on the basis of the survey,in-depth analysis and demand assessment were conducted on the home safety problems of empty nesters,and it was clear that the empty nesters in this community had the needs of home safety knowledge learning,home safety awareness improvement,home safety protection ability improvement,etc,and empty nesters with significant needs and strong willingness to participate were selected as service objects in the survey process.Secondly,under the guidance of social learning theory and social support theory,the researchers set up study groups to establish professional relationships in order to meet the needs of home security services for empty-nesters.Learn safety knowledge and exchange prevention experience;Strengthen safety awareness,improve protection ability and other service strategies,carry out six group activities,so that empty nesters in the process of group interaction to improve home safety awareness,home safety knowledge and certain protection skills,to achieve the goal of preventing and resolving empty nesters home safety problems.Finally,through the evaluation and reflection of group work intervention,suggestions for improvement are put forward,in order to provide reference for social work to participate in the improvement of home safety of empty-nest families.Research shows that group work under the guidance of social learning theory can improve the home safety awareness of empty-nesters,and the empty-nesters can acquire home safety knowledge and improve home safety protection ability in the process of group activities.And then take action to prevent and respond to home safety issues.The intervention of social work in the home safety of empty-nesters can make up for the deficiencies of government departments in the pension work and improve the quality of life of empty-nesters to a certain extent.However,there are many shortcomings in social work’s intervention in the home safety of empty-nesters,which requires social workers to constantly explore service models and social work service agencies to constantly improve their service level.In addition,it is not enough to rely only on the strength of social work service agencies and professional social workers.Only when social work organizations,voluntary service organizations and government departments cooperate with each other to deal with and improve the home safety of empty-nesters can empty-nesters enjoy a happy life in their later years.
