Since the 1990 s,With the expansion of higher education and the upgrading of social industrial structure,the requirements of the labor market have changed accordingly.The graduates is facing new challenges,it is more difficult to find a suitable job for graduates because the number of university students is increasing.In this case,In order to adapt to the development of the times and solve employment contradiction of university’s students as the same time,the Chinese university have carried out career education.However,in the traditional concept,career education is equivalent to employment guidance that only needs to help individuals find a job,which is out of the trend.Entering the 21 st century,the international concept of career education has been further updated.With the development of the society,more individualism consciousness were awakened.The focus of career education is not just to find a job.It emphasizes the development of individual career potential and pay more attention to cultivate individual comprehensive quality,so as to achieve the goal of unemployed and employed finally.In other words,individual finding a job is only the beginning rather than the end,which also reflects a view of lifelong education.The university in UK treat career education as an important way to cultivate students’ employ-ability and develop innovative spirit,which throughout whole process of higher education.No matter curriculum,enterprise cooperation or quality assurance,the career education of UK’s universities have something remarkable.In contrast,although the awareness of career education in Chinese universities have awakened,and also made achievements,but compared with the UK,the main measures of career education in universities of China only focus on employment guidance and pay attention to the employment guidance of students close to graduation.The form of career education is relatively single,and lacking of coherence in contents,the career education works less well.This paper is divided into six chapters: the first chapter defines the core concepts of career,vocational education and career education clearly,and discusses the relevant research theories of "person job matching" theory ",career development stage theory" and "career anchor" theory.The second chapter explores the development motivation and development process of career education in UK’s universities,which provides a clear macro idea for future research.The third chapter discusses the construction and operation of the internal development path of universities and the construction and operation of the external social support network,this paper analyzes the path of career education in UK’s universities.The fourth chapter takes Cambridge University as a case to further analyze the implementation path of career.The fifth chapter analyzes the guarantee mechanism of career education in UK universities from three aspects: policy guarantee,capital guarantee and teacher guarantee.The last chapter discusses the current situation of career education of universities in China,combined with the successful experiences of career education in UK’s universities,discussing the main problems of career education of universities in China,From the aspects of career education concept,school enterprise cooperation,curriculum,teachers to draw inspiration.
