Study On The Intervention Of Medical Social Work In Chinese Organ Donation After Citizen’s Death

The development of human organ transplantation technology has brought hope to many patients with organ failure,human organ donation and transplantation requires the joint efforts of Red Cross societies at all levels,human organ acquisition organizations,medical institutions and others,medical social workers also contribute to its healthy and sustainable development by providing professional services.Combing through literatures that services carried out by domestic and foreign medical social workers in the cause of human organ donation and transplantation,summarizing the professional advantages of medical social work intervention in Chinese Organ Donation after Citizen’s Death,with professional values of altruism,respect,individualization,and the right to uphold holistic healthcare,professional abilities such as diversified knowledge structure,good communication skills,and re-learning capability.Using semi-structured interviews to understand the space for medical social work to intervene in Chinese Organ Donation after Citizen’s Death,gradually explore the path of practice in participatory observation.According to the main process of Chinese Organ Donation after Citizen’s Death,proposes the content of professional services that can be provided by medical social workers,divided into four parts.During the donation registration and evaluation process,medical social workers can identify the type of potential donor,build a trusting relationship with the potential donor’s family,continuously monitor the family’s grief response,and communicate positively and effectively with the family;During the donation confirmation and organ acquisition process,they assist families in organ confirmation,provide constant companionship,guide families to form a correct awareness of the act of organ donation,and help families to complete their farewells;In the humanitarian aid segment,assisting families with financial support,providing psychological support,offering grief counseling services,and helping donor families build social support systems;In the memorial segment,they hold memorial events and organize publicity activities for organ donation.To address the problems encountered in the course of practice,suggestions are made for rational planning and construction of medical social work personnel,improving the management of medical social workers,raising social awareness of medical social work,and improving the post-practice support system.
