At present,the cultivation and development of students’ social emotional ability has attracted much attention.In China,attention to the improvement of students’ social emotional ability is a response to the needs of China’s education modernization development.Among them,emotional regulation ability is the cornerstone of the development of students’ social emotional ability.The lower grade students in primary school are in a critical period of emotional regulation ability development.Paying attention to and improving their emotional regulation ability will be of great help to their future social adaptation.Especially in recent years,students’ emotional problems occur frequently.More and more schools begin to pay attention to students’ mental health problems and carry out a series of mental health education courses.However,there are some problems,such as single teaching method,boring courses and students’ lack of interest,so the teaching of mental health needs innovation.With the continuous innovation of technology and the rapid development of the game industry,educational games with educational significance have become a hot spot in the development of educational resources.Educational games combine education with fun,which is recognized by educators and learners alike.As a new technology,educational games provide a new idea for mental health teaching.At present,the research on the teaching application of educational games is mostly focused on the science and technology subjects of middle and high schools and the science subjects of primary schools,and good learning effects have been achieved through empirical research.To solve the above problems,this study designs and develops a 3D educational game of emotion regulation and applies it to teaching practice on the basis of the theoretical logical framework of social emotion learning courses themed on emotion regulation abroad,emotion regulation and educational games.Training students’ emotional regulation ability based on educational games is a new intervention method.The application of educational games can enrich classroom teaching forms,stimulate students’ interest in learning,improve students’ participation in class,and solve the problem of lack of innovation in primary school mental health classroom teaching methods.In the first part of this paper,based on the research background,research questions,research purpose and significance,and research methods are proposed.The second part,based on the research questions,summarizes and analyzes the five foreign social emotion learning courses with good implementation effect and the theme of emotion regulation.Then,it analyzes and organizes the research status of emotion regulation and educational games at home and abroad in recent years,defines related concepts and summarizes the summary part.The third part,based on the analysis of foreign social emotional learning curriculum theory logical model and educational games and emotional regulation related theories to determine the theoretical logical framework of the educational game.In combination with the current teaching status of mental health classroom and the needs of teachers and students,content design and function determination of educational games are carried out to form game development documents.The fourth part,based on the game development documents,with the help of Maya,Unity3 D and other tools,carried out the development and function realization of 3D educational games with emotion regulation as the theme.In the fifth part,the classroom teaching design of elementary school students’ emotional regulation ability based on the educational game was carried out.Experimental group and control group were set up for classroom teaching practice,and the effectiveness of new intervention methods based on educational games on cultivating and improving students’ emotional regulation ability was tested through questionnaire survey.Interviews and questionnaires were conducted to get teachers and students’ feelings and suggestions on the use of educational games.The results show that the emotional regulation ability of pupils based on educational games can be effectively improved,and the addition of educational games enriches the classroom teaching form,and students’ learning interest and classroom participation are improved.This study provides a new idea for the resource design of mental health teaching.
