| STEAM education is characterized by interdisciplinary education,which cultivates students’ comprehensive abilities to meet society’s growing demand for talents.General technology course is a course connecting scientific laws and technology application.It aims to improve students’ core literacy of the subject,and is mainly characterized by technology exploration,design and production.It is comprehensive,practical and innovative.General technology courses help students build knowledge through technical practice activities,integrate knowledge and practice,enhance the study and application of technical ideas and methods,develop engineering thinking and creativity,and improve the comprehensive ability to solve technical problems,which is similar to the concept of STEAM.Combined with the actual teaching and literature analysis,it is found that the current general technology course has some problems,such as single textbook experiment,insufficient attention,insufficient inquiry,lack of practice,which leads to the lack of students’ core literacy training.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out innovative teaching design and practice in general technology courses and improve students’ comprehensive ability.Under the guidance of STEAM education concept,this study constructed teaching process and designed teaching cases according to the content characteristics of general technology experiment course,and implemented and evaluated the design scheme,so as to verify whether integrating interdisciplinary education concept into general technology experiment course teaching can improve the teaching effect,so as to promote the cultivation of students’ core literacy and comprehensive ability.This study firstly reviews the literature and analyzes the existing researches on STEAM education and general technology courses,so as to provide theoretical support for further teaching practice.Based on the above analysis,the basic elements of general technology experiment course,STEAM education characteristics and elements of general technology experiment teaching process integrated into STEAM concept are further sorted out.On this basis,the teaching process of general technology experiment course under STEAM concept is designed: Context introduction,problem elaboration,cooperative exploration,modeling interpretation,technology practice,integration and transformation,and the development of teaching resources as learning support,in order to promote the cultivation of students’ comprehensive practical ability.In this study,three teaching cases of “Submarine design and production”,“Application of Lever Structure” and “Design and Production of Air Power Vehicle” were designed and applied in practice based on the content of General Technology Compulsory 2“Structure and Design”.By measuring the change of students’ problem-solving ability,cooperative learning ability and learning interest,Based on data such as classroom observation,evaluation of works and knowledge mastery,the teaching effect is analyzed and adjusted.Finally,through three rounds of action research iteration and improvement of teaching process,the improvement effect of general technology experimental course teaching integrated with STEAM education concept is tested.The results show that the teaching effect of general technology experiment courses under the STEAM concept has been improved,and the application of STEAM concept in general technology experiment teaching can improve students’ comprehensive practical abilities such as problem solving ability,cooperative learning ability and learning interest. |
