The physics course of compulsory education is a natural science course based on experiments.Its theory is rooted in scientific experiments,and it should be tested by them eventually.Experimental teaching has always been the focus of physics teaching.It can not only provide students with perceptual materials for learning,help them understand experimental phenomena more clearly,but also stimulate students’ interest in learning,exercise their thinking and cultivate their scientific inquiry skills.In recent years,the reform of physics curriculum has repeatedly emphasized the subject function and educational value of experimental teaching,but the actual effect of experimental teaching is not ideal.There are still problems such as low participation of students and rigid teaching methods,which are not conducive to students’ understanding and mastering of physics knowledge.Short videos of physics popular science have many advantages in the application of physics experiment teaching in junior high school.For example,introducing short videos of physics popular science into experimental teaching can motivate students’ enthusiasm for learning physics knowledge,strengthen their comprehension of what they have learned,improve the vitality of physics experiment and meet students’ personalized learning needs.This research proposes to use short videos of physics popularization in junior high school physics experiment teaching to help teachers conduct experimental teaching more effectively and achieve better outcomes.The aim is to foster students’ scientific inquiry and innovation skills.In the information age,short videos of physics popularization are abundant and appealing.How to leverage the popular mode and successful experience of these videos to enhance physics experiment teaching is a theoretical and practical issue that physics educators need to explore deeply.Based on the research background and guided by the "Physics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)"(hereinafter referred to as the "New Curriculum Standards"),this study investigates the following aspects of applying short videos of physics popular science in junior high school physics experiment teaching:(1)We reviewed the domestic and foreign research of short popular science videos in teaching,defined the concepts of short popular science videos and short physics popular science videos,and started from following the psychological development characteristics of middle school students.This paper introduced the constructivism learning theory,situational cognition and learning theory and audio-visual education theory that are relevant to the application of physics popular science short videos in junior high school physics experiment teaching.It also analyzes the educational value of physics popular science short videos from the perspective of the psychological development characteristics of middle school students.(2)We conducted a questionnaire survey on students in Grade 2 and Grade 3 as well as physics teachers in first-line junior middle schools.Based on the survey results,it sorted out the channels and screening principles for obtaining short videos of physics popularization,and analyzed the content and presentation form of the selected videos.It also provides some examples of physics popularization short video resources that are integrated with junior high school physics(see Appendix C for details),and proposes the application strategies of physics popularization short video in different types and links of experimental teaching.(3)Based on the application strategy of physics popular science short videos in experimental teaching,we designed the teaching design of "Liquid Pressure"(the first period)and "Archimedes’ Principle" based on the human education version of junior high school physics textbooks and guided by the activity suggestions put forward in the New Curriculum Standard.It also incorporates the feedback from first-line physics teachers to improve the teaching design.This research can provide some ways for first-line junior middle school physics teachers to obtain short videos of physics popularization,and provide some materials for physics experiment teaching.It can also help integrate short videos of physics popularization into experimental teaching,so as to stimulate students’ interest in physics learning and improve the experimental teaching effect.
