The report of the Party’s 20 th National Congress pointed out that we should comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization.Chinese modernization is the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature,and the construction of ecological civilization education system based on school education is the meaning of the topic of education to support Chinese modernization.At the same time,Geography Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)proposed that geography curriculum should lay a foundation for cultivating new people with the concept of ecological civilization,and explained the important position of practical activities in ecological civilization education from various aspects.In this context,geography teachers need to improve their conceptual position,change the tendency of ignoring ecological civilization education in the past,guide students to understand the problems of ecological civilization in practical activities,improve the quality of ecological civilization,and truly realize the all-round development of students.Therefore,This paper attempts to carry out geography ecological civilization education in junior middle school by means of practical activities.By clarifying the design principles and processes of ecological civilization education practice activities,this paper designs and implements typical cases,analyzes the implementation effects,and puts forward targeted design suggestions,in order to provide references for front-line teachers to carry out geography ecological civilization education practice activities in junior middle school.This paper adopts literature research method,questionnaire survey method and Practical research method.The following is the main research content and process: Firstly,by referring to the literature in related fields,the paper determines the research background and significance,and by sorting out relevant domestic and foreign researches,the paper clarifies the research content,methods and ideas of this paper.Secondly,the paper first defines the concepts of “ecological civilization”,“ecological civilization education” and“geographical practice activities”;and then it expounds the theoretical basis of geographical ecological civilization education practice activities in junior middle school.Thirdly,questionnaire survey is adopted to investigate the current situation of geographical ecological civilization education practice in junior middle schools,and the paper summarizes the problems and reasons.Fourthly,based on the results of questionnaire survey and relevant theoretical research,the design principles and processes of ecological civilization education practice activities are clarified.On this basis,the paper selects the typical activity cases to design and implement,analyzes the implementation effect;Fifthly,according to the implementation effect and reflection of the activity,the paper puts forward the advice of junior high school geographical ecological civilization education practice activities.Finally,the paper summarizes the research conclusions,innovations,deficiencies and prospects.Through the questionnaire survey of 212 junior middle school geography teachers in Henan Province,it is found that the teachers themselves have a good cognition of ecological civilization education and a high degree of identification of ecological civilization education practice activities.However,due to the constraints of the lack of practical activities,the pressure of exam-oriented education and other factors,the geography ecological civilization education in junior middle schools generally adopts the traditional teaching method at present,and the teaching effect is not good.Therefore,geography teachers generally believe that practical activities are an effective way to carry out the education of ecological civilization.In view of the above problems and understandings,this paper first clarified the design principles and design process of ecological civilization education practice activities based on the relevant research of“ecological civilization education” and “practical activities”.The design principles mainly include the comprehensive principle,the principle of autonomy,the principle of localization,and the principle of operability.The design process mainly includes four links:(1)Determine the theme and target of ecological civilization education practice activities;(2)Select the content of ecological civilization education practice;(3)Plan the process of ecological civilization education practice;(4)Formulate the evaluation of ecological civilization education practice activities.Moreover,based on the principles and procedures of activity design,an ecological civilization education practice activity themed “Entering Majia River Wetland Park” was designed and practiced in the affiliated high School of Henan University.After the practice,it is concluded that:(1)Students have strong interest in ecological civilization education practice;(2)Practical activities effectively improve students’ ecological civilization literacy;(3)Practical activities cultivate students’ practical ability.Finally,combining with teaching practice and reflection,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the design of practical activities of geography ecological civilization education in junior middle school:(1)According to the curriculum standard and learning situation,build a comprehensive activity theme and target;(2)Combine students’ interests and explore ecological materials through multiple channels;(3)Design driven tasks and build coherent activity flow;(4)Adopt multiple evaluation methods according to activity objectives;(5)Organize ecological civilization education practice activities across disciplines around the content of the activities.The innovation of this paper lies in the novelty of the topic.Through literature reading,it is found that geography is highly compatible with ecological civilization education,and relevant researches are increasing day by day.However,most researches focus on high school rather than on junior school,and existing researches lack surveys based on practical activities.Through questionnaire survey,this paper understands the current situation of geographical ecological civilization education practice activities in junior middle school.Combining relevant theories,the paper clarifies the design principles and processes of ecological civilization education practice activities,then designs and implements activity cases with the theme of “entering Majiahe Wetland Park”.Finally the paper proposes design suggestions on geographical ecological civilization education practice activities in junior middle school on the basis of teaching practice and reflection.
