The report to the Party’s 20 th National Congress pointed out that we should strengthen our feelings of home and country,deepen propaganda and education on core socialist values,deepen education on patriotism,collectivism and socialism,and train new people to take on the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.Geography courses are close to life,pay attention to nature and society,reflect the characteristics of geography and have strong practicability,which is of great value to cultivate students’ harmonious view of man and land,feelings of home and country,global vision,critical thinking,innovative spirit and practical ability.In a world undergoing profound changes unseen in a century,people around the world share weal and woe,and face both opportunities and challenges.At the same time,the geography curriculum of junior high school contains a lot of educational factors of "feelings of home and country".The cultivation of young students’ "feelings of home and country" is related to the country’s future and national rejuvenation.Therefore,it is of great significance for junior high school students to cultivate "feelings of home and country" through geography teaching.Under the guidance of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory,Taylor’s modern teaching theory,constructivism theory,life education theory and geography teaching theory,this paper adopts literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview,case analysis and statistical analysis to study the teachers and students of H Middle School,S Middle School,G Middle School and L Middle School in Xingtai City,Hebei Province.This paper investigates the cultivation of "home and country feelings" among junior middle school students in geography teaching.By collating and analyzing the data of teacher questionnaire,student questionnaire and teacher interview records,it is concluded that the cultivation status of "national feelings" of junior middle school students in geography teaching is as follows:(1)some teachers and students lack depth and breadth of understanding of "national feelings";(2)Some schools and teachers do not fully implement the education of "feelings of home and country";(3)Some students lack confidence and pride in their hometown and motherland;(4)Students lack autonomy and practicality in the cultivation of "feelings of home and country";(5)There is a great contrast between students’ strong demand for "home-and-country feelings" education and their neglect of "home-and-country feelings" education;(6)It is difficult to quantify the cultivation effect of students’ "feelings of home and country".According to the problems existing in the current investigation,in order to promote the cultivation of "feelings of home and country" in the geography teaching of junior high school students,on the basis of reading a large number of literature,the following strategies are put forward:(1)with the help of vivid cases,enhance students’ feelings of patriotism and love family;(2)Arouse students’ inner emotional demands with the help of real situations,and guide students to fully express their inner emotions through personal participation in teaching activities;(3)Carry out geographical practice activities of "home and country feelings",strengthen experience in practice,and "learn" while "doing";(4)Strengthen the development of geography curriculum resources for "Feelings of home and country".Firstly,we should attach importance to the resources of "home and country feelings" in geography textbooks.Secondly,excavate local geographic resources to deepen students’ understanding of "feelings of home and country".Finally,strengthen the development of network resources and expand students’ vision of "feelings of home and country".(5)Improve the evaluation method pointing to junior high school students’ "feelings of home and country" training effect,pay attention to the cultivation of students "feelings of home and country" performance evaluation and development evaluation.Based on the principles of teaching case design,course standard requirements,textbook analysis,learning situation analysis,and combined with the proposed teaching strategies,this paper designs a teaching case for junior high school students to cultivate their "feelings of home and country" in geography teaching,taking the contents of Section 4 of Chapter 7 of the eighth grade textbook,"The Sacred Territory of the Motherland--Taiwan Province" as an example.It aims to cultivate students’ "feelings of home and country" from the perspectives of "knowledge","feeling","meaning" and "action",and invited 5 experienced front-line teachers to evaluate it,and got a lot of valuable opinions and suggestions.
