| In recent years,garbage classification policies and measures are being gradually promoted throughout the society.Among them,garbage sorting and environmental protection education aimed at improving children’s environmental literacy is also one of the exploration paths to promote the implementation of garbage sorting,because children’s receptivity and the development of their good habits are conducive to the sustainable development of subsequent garbage sorting and environmental protection behaviors.However,reviewing the literature shows that the current environmental protection education is mainly based on curriculum preaching,and the form is single and random,which leads to a mismatch between the supply and demand of children’s garbage classification and environmental protection education.With the exploration of comprehensive approaches to "multiple co-governance" and the development of professional social work,social work has begun to play its due role in environmental protection,providing new professional perspectives and methods for developing children’s community environmental protection education.Therefore,this research attempts to use group social work to improve the environmental literacy of children’s waste sorting,and to explore the effective experience of social work involved in children’s waste sorting and environmental protection education practices.In this study,the Nanwan community served by the researcher’s internship institution was selected.Based on the list provided by the community,using a systematic sampling method,36 children were selected and distributed to them the "Children Garbage Classification and Environmental Protection Education Questionnaire".Through data analysis,the researchers found that the status of environmental protection education for children in this community is not optimistic.Children’s environmental literacy scores are low and there are obvious differences in scores.The environmental awareness,emotions and behaviors of garbage classification need to be improved.On this basis,this research used the method of group work and selected 8 children who scored in the bottom third of the garbage classification environmental protection education questionnaire to form a group of "Environmental Protection Guards",aiming to provide professional social work services.In order to improve its environmental literacy.The researcher adopts the development model of group work to provide services to the clients,regards children as the active subject,pays attention to their different needs,designed a series of activities for the three dimensions of waste sorting and environmental protection education,and treated them before and after group activities.Group members conduct a questionnaire survey on waste sorting and environmental protection education to test the effects of group activities.The questionnaire showed that the scores of 8 groups of children in the three dimensions of garbage classification and environmental protection,cognition,emotion,and behavior have been improved.The goal of group activities has basically been completed.Ten group activities have achieved good results,so the group It is applicable and professional to carry out environmental protection education for children’s garbage classification.After the group work,the researchers also reflected on the advantages and limitations of the development model,the practical process,and the changes in the multiple roles of social workers.They believed that the development and improvement of environmental protection education in children’s communities requires the participation of the community,parents,and schools to jointly enhance Children’s awareness of garbage classification and environmental protection,improve garbage classification environmental protection emotions,and develop garbage classification environmental protection behaviors. |
