Today,China’s comprehensive national strength is rising,the economy is developing rapidly,and the society is making more progress.The continuous reform of the Ministry of Education on school physical education has made people pay more and more attention to physical education,and physical education teachers are facing more professional and scientific challenges.The physical education major in colleges and universities is the source of the training of physical education teachers,and the general gymnastics course is a course that every student of the physical education major in colleges and universities must study.This course covers the dual objectives of project teaching and the training of physical education teachers’ basic skills,and it is also an important means to develop students’ physical qualities such as strength,flexibility and coordination,which plays an irreplaceable role.The scaffolding teaching mode meets the requirements of quality education,so its application to the teaching of general gymnastics courses not only implements the new concept of college physical education curriculum reform,but also enriches the research of this theory in college gymnastics teaching.This research mainly adopts the methods of literature,questionnaire,teaching experiment,expert interview method,mathematical statistics and other research methods,logical analysis,combs the differences between scaffolding teaching mode and traditional teaching mode,and discusses whether scaffolding teaching mode is more beneficial to students’ autonomous learning ability and gymnastics learning interest.After a 16 week teaching experiment,by comparing the relevant data of their physical fitness,autonomous learning ability,gymnastics learning interest and gymnastics sports skills before and after the experiment,the following conclusions are drawn from the analysis of the research results:(1)The scaffolding teaching method and traditional teaching method have no significant difference in improving students’ physical fitness after 16 weeks of teaching experiments.The reason for this is that to improve students’ physical fitness,long-term and systematic exercise is necessary.(2)Scaffolding teaching method pays more attention to the main position of students in the classroom.By using different types of scaffolding to help students conduct independent exploration and cooperative inquiry learning,students’ learning motivation has been fully improved,and learning under the situation created by the scaffolding teaching method is more effective for students to improve their autonomous learning ability.(3)The scaffolding teaching method starts from the reality,creates the teaching plot and builds the teaching framework according to the students’ closest development area,which can meet the learning needs of different students,and also allows each student to integrate into the classroom learning,thus stimulating their interest in gymnastics learning.(4)Students under the scaffolding teaching method have a higher degree of mastery of gymnastics skills than students under the traditional teaching method,and gymnastics technical movements are more standardized.(5)The application of scaffolding teaching method in gymnastics teaching is more helpful to improve students’ autonomous learning ability,interest in gymnastics learning and gymnastics skills.Scaffolding teaching method is good at cultivating the unity and cooperation between students,which is more in line with the teaching method in the context of the new era.
