It is well known that the scientific research cannot exist without the scientificclassification as a guider for people to learn knowledge at right direction .The scientificclassification not only offers the essential attribute but also gives us the most important rulesabout research.。This article is based on the lots of researches about the modern gymnasticsclassifications and characters in china and combined with the objective situation in thedevelopment of gymnastics .On the whole, the theory of gymnastics classification hasdeveloped and broken through further in breadth and depth. However, it has not embodied thecharacteristic gymnastics. It is based on Dialectics of nature and Marxism system thinking as the director. In thisarticle, many kinds of methods have been used, such as documents and materials, expert'sinterview, questionnaire investigation etc, so as to re-build the gymnastics classificationsystem from macroscopic perspective and achieve the transition from the phenomenalclassification to preliminary and essential classification and realize the theoretical innovationof gymnastics classification. Logical dichotomy and the sort criterion composing ofgymnastics essence peculiarities and the drove to participate can be used in this article. There are two sorts for gymnastics to develop. One is sports direction for few players tomake the best records in competitions and the other is the mass of sports for people to earnhealth both bodies and mentality. In the new classification system, the goals and tasks forgymnastics to develop and gymnastics coming trend will be accord with demands for thewhole of P.E and SPORTS and will be coincided with two most important strategies ,"Olympic scheme" and " Sports for all scheme"at present in China . It not only benefits tothe development of gymnastics subject but also in favors of keeping up with the impulse ofthe society .On the whole, the new sorts system will become one of useful reference for us tocarry through our Educational Policy and P.E Policy then favorably realize "two strategies".
