A Comparative Study On The Cultural Memory Construction Of The Opening Ceremony Of The Beijing Olympic Games And The Beijing Winter Olympic Games

Cultural memory is a common memory of history and culture formed by a country and a nation in its long-term historical development,and it is an important foundation for establishing national identity and constructing "imaginary community".Only when we know the road we came,can we know the way back.The continuous inheritance of cultural memory shapes the identity and cultural identity of a nation,so that the whole nation can understand itself and find the right direction in the process of development.The opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Beijing Winter Olympic Games,held 14 years apart,made Beijing the first "double Olympic city " in history,They are in different historical positions and have witnessed great social changes in China since the reform and opening up.The two opening ceremonies constructed cultural memory in different ways,and both showed the world the excellent traditional culture and national spirit of the Chinese nation.This research takes the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Beijing Winter Olympic Games as the research object,takes the cultural symbols presented at the two opening ceremonies as the analysis text,combines the literature method,case analysis method and text analysis method,and explores the background of construction,the process of construction and the value of construction of cultural memory at the two opening ceremonies from the theoretical perspective of "cultural memory".The research results show that the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games restores and reappears the traditional Chinese history and culture in a reference way dominated by "repetition".The purpose is to show the image of a great oriental country with a long history and culture,reshape people’s cultural identity,achieve the positioning of national identity,and gain momentum for progress;The opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is an active interpretation,activation and reconstruction of cultural memory in a reference way dominated by "modernity".By integrating the Olympic spirit and the concept of "a community with a shared future for mankind",the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games has endowed the traditional culture with new era connotation and explanatory power,demonstrating China’s cultural self-confidence and strengthening people’s identity.At the same time,the opening ceremonies of the two Olympic Games were based on the traditional culture,humanistic customs,national spirit,etc.of the Chinese nation to carry out the "self imagination" of the community,and awakened people’s memories of the traditional Chinese culture with the help of rich media technology,so that the culture can continue to be recognized in the inheritance.This study provides the following insights for the cultural memory construction of the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games opening ceremony in China: based on traditional culture,to achieve cultural inheritance;Based on the needs of the times,to enrich cultural connotation;Based on media technology and innovative presentation forms.
