As an important poverty alleviation measure in China, the relocation policy has improved the living environment of rural poor groups and helped relocated people gradually get out of poverty and get rich. However,"moving" is not equal to the completion of poverty alleviation tasks. After the poor people move to cities, their livelihood ability cannot be rapidly improved in a short time.Affected by economic pressure, some relocated people choose to go out for work and leave their children to live with other guardians in the relocated places. As a special group,left-behind children move from remote mountain villages to developed cities and lack emotional support from their parents in unfamiliar environments. The "flow" and "left-behind" experience will greatly affect their social adaptation process in relocated communities, which is in urgent need of attention from all sectors of society. The author followed the staff of J Community and social work Service Center of Poverty-relief relocation in in livable areas of Qianxi City into this community to investigate the status quo of social adaptation of left-behind children. There are a large number of left-behind children in J community.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is found that these left-behind children have problems such as low level of self-cognition,poor learning autonomy, poor interpersonal relationship and poor sense of community belonging. This study combines investigation and field research methods, and uses questionnaire, observation and interview methods to analyze the basic characteristics and social adaptation of left-behind children in J community.Under the guidance of social learning theory and ecosystem theory, group objectives are determined and group plans are formulated.Plan six group activities from four aspects of self-adaptation,academic adaptation, interpersonal adaptation and environmental adaptation to intervene in the problems of left-behind children’s social adaptation and to help them improve their social adaptation ability. In the process of group activities, social workers guide members to improve their self-identity,form good learning habits, master good interpersonal communication skills, and begin to take the initiative to participate in community activities. In the whole group activity,we pay attention to adjust the group activity plan timely according to the performance and feedback of the group members. Finally, the paper summarizes and reflects on the shortcomings and advantages of the group’s work in the intervention, and puts forward relevant suggestions,in order to provide reference and experience for the practical research on the social adaptation ability of left-behind children in the poverty-alleviation relocated communities in in poverty-stricken areas, and inject impetus into the follow-up work of poverty-alleviation relocated in in poverty-stricken areas.
