The classroom is the leading site of teachers’ teaching and learning.Classroom observation is a fundamental method of educational research that enables in-depth analysis of the realities of classroom teaching and learning. The Flanders Interaction Analysis System(FIAS),a quantitative analysis tool for classroom observation research, has been widely used by researchers in subject-specific teaching research. This study uses the Flanders Interactive Analysis System to conduct a classroom observation study of experiment classroom teaching of junior secondary physics classrooms, using the National Secondary School Physics Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition as a research vehicle,to explore, intending to explore the merits of junior secondary physics quality classes in terms of experiment classroom teaching, guiding promoting teachers’ professional development and improving experiment education. The main tasks of this study are as follows:Firstly,by combing through the literature, the study reviews the current status of research on "classroom observation," "Flanders Interactive Analysis System," and "experiment teaching in junior high school physics classrooms," and provides a theoretical basis and practical guidance for observation research.Secondly, the "Flanders Interactive Analysis Coding System for Physics" developed by the previous researcher is adjusted and improved, and the "Experiment Teaching Coding System for Junior High School Physics" is finally developed as the classroom observation tool for this study, taking into account the classroom observation theory and the evaluation theory of junior high school physics experimental teaching. The study is conducted with the help of an improved classroom observation tool.Thirdly, with the help of the improved classroom observation tool, ten junior high school physics quality practical lessons are selected as samples for the study in the National Junior High School Physics Teachers’ Teaching Competition, and their teaching recordings are observed and coded using the Nvivo12 qualitative analysis software and the i FIAS analysis program.Fourthly, based on the quantitative data of the classroom observation study and the qualitative analysis of the teaching content, the findings of the classroom observation study are analyzed in four dimensions: classroom behavioral ratios, classroom question, and answer patterns, classroom emotional climate, and classroom experiment teaching. The results of the study bring the following teaching inspirations to front-line teachers: set up suitable types of questions to maximize the effectiveness of questions.Create interesting demonstration experiments to create a good classroom atmosphere.Encourage students’ experimental activities to enhance comprehensive practical ability.Introduce modern information technology to improve the efficiency of practical, observed teaching.
