As an essential development object to accelerate the cultivation and development of the sports competition and performance industry,sports event enterprises are also of critical graspers to indirectly promote the upgrading and transformation of the sports industry and realize the high-quality development of the sports industry.For sports event enterprises,the effectiveness of constructing their crucial talent team is directly related to the enterprise’s core competitiveness and sustainable development.It is a top priority in the management of the enterprise.However,due to the complexity of the external environment and the company’s capabilities,most sports events companies still need help obtaining core talent resources more effectively.To promote the development of China’s sports event enterprises and provide solutions for sports event enterprises to acquire talent efficiently,this study selects a case study approach as a whole.It uses a combination of literature analysis,fieldwork,in-depth interviews,and content analysis,with the help of NVivo 12.0 Plus software,to conduct a case study based on the content analysis results.This study takes the theoretical viewpoint of enterprise life cycle and strategic human resource management as the theoretical introduction of the case study,selects appropriate sports event companies(sample cases),and conducts case studies on the impact factors of talent acquisition practices of sports event companies in China through multiple data sources such as in-depth interviews,information retrieval,and field research,and further proposes management suggestions to optimize and improve the talent acquisition capabilities of sports event companies in China.The study attempts to explore the impact factors of talent acquisition of sports event companies from the perspective of enterprise life cycle theory,the specific forms of impact factors,and the "black box" of the evolution process of talent acquisition impact factors,and tries to develop a theoretical understanding of strategic human resource management in sports event companies.The research results show that:(i)From the current cross-sectional observation,the life cycle of sports event companies can be divided into three stages: the start-up period,the development period,and the mature period,and the influence factors of talent acquisition practices of sports event companies in different stages of the enterprise’s life cycle in government policies,social environment,enterprise carriers,and individual talents have specific differences in the form of dimensions;(ii)Under different life cycles,the situation,motivation,process,and results of talent acquisition practices of sports event companies show significant differences,and three differentiated talent acquisition practice configurations have been derived: "platform construction and potential development-oriented","framework construction and system-oriented",and "future-oriented and innovation-oriented";(iii)The "CMPO" dynamic process theory framework constructed in this study can provide new explanatory ideas for dynamic analysis of "different paths leading to the same goal" talent acquisition practices of sports event companies in different life cycle stages.In summary,this study enriches the application research of enterprise life cycle theory and strategic human resource management theory in the core talent acquisition of sports event companies;at the same time,it provides sports event companies in different life cycle stages in China with targeted and highly operational core talent acquisition strategies.
