In recent years,China’s secondary vocational education is in the favorable stage of vigorous development,the national support policy of the good era,so the national regions,especially in the ethnic areas of the secondary vocational education has attracted much attention.Therefore,the multi-cultural literacy of the teachers in the secondary vocational schools in ethnic areas is required to be higher.Based on this,the investigation and research on the multicultural literacy of secondary vocational teachers in ethnic minority areas were conducted.This study designed the framework for the multicultural literacy of secondary vocational teachers in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,and it uses questionnaire survey and interview method to investigate the in-service teachers of five counties in Yanbian Korean Autonomous prefecture(hereinafter referred to as Yanbian prefecture),from four dimensions: knowledge integration,cultural response,diversified educational power and value tolerance.Through SPSS data analysis,the status quo of multicultural literacy of secondary vocational teachers in Yanbian County was obtained.The scores are: knowledge integration,cultural responsiveness,and multiple educational ability.In addition,in the analysis of the differences of teachers,there are significant differences in the value tolerance of multicultural literacy;race in the cultural responsiveness of multicultural literacy;significant differences in the teaching and management ability of knowledge integration and educational ability of multicultural literacy;and the training duration in the dimensions of teachers’ multicultural literacy.The difference is: the Korean teachers in terms of cultural response;the teachers of the teachers are significantly higher than the teachers with short teaching age;the knowledge integration and multiple education of the teachers in YJ City Vocational High School and DH City Vocational Education Center are significantly higher than those of WQ County,AT County Vocational Education Center and TM City Vocational Education Center;the teachers’ cultural response and knowledge integration are higher than those of the teachers with short time.Through the analysis of the current situation of the multicultural literacy of secondary vocational teachers in Yanbian Prefecture,it is found that the obstacles to the improvement of their multicultural literacy are: the lack of knowledge integration,the lowest cultural response,the diversified educational power needs to be improved,and the value tolerance needs to be improved slightly.Based on the statistics of the questionnaire data and the interview data,the main reasons are: the government policy guarantee needs to be improved,the influence of the social geographical environment,the campus multicultural atmosphere is not strong,the lack of standardized training of multicultural education,and the lack of internal driving force of teachers themselves.Finally,for these problems,five suggestions are made: optimizing the policy guarantee of multicultural literacy enhancement;creating the multicultural campus atmosphere of "harmony without difference";providing the training conditions to support the improvement of teachers’ multicultural literacy;improving the assessment content and evaluation criteria of teachers in ethnic areas;and enhancing the internal drive of teachers’ own multicultural literacy. |
