In the Outline of the National Plan for Medium-and Long-term Education Reform and Development(2010-2020),it proposes that the training of talents should be strengthened in "combining learning and thinking".It advocates heuristic,inquiry,talking and participatory teaching to promote students’ learning.In 2019,China’s Education Modernization 2035 " also mentioned the requirements of strengthening students’ practical ability,cooperation,innovation and other aspects.In the process of training students,we should change their learning habits,highlight their subjectivity in learning,and gradually change "I want to learn" into "I want to learn".Participatory teaching means that teachers use different teaching methods in teaching activities to encourage and guide students to participate in teaching,so as to stimulate students to actively participate in learning activities.This paper applies the participatory teaching model to the teaching of public sports orienteering courses in universities,and the literature data method,expert interview,teaching experiments,mathematical statistics and other research methods to carry out teaching experiments.Class 1(20 boys and 14 girls)and Class 2(18 boys and 16 girls)of the public sports orienteering courses in Yunnan Normal University are the teaching objects,Among them,whole-process participatory teaching and classroom participatory teaching are the only variables in the whole teaching experiment process.By comparing the students’ physical quality,achievement motivation,learning motivation,learning interest,special skills and scores before and after the experiment.The following conclusions are drawn:1.In the public physical education teaching of directional sports,there is no significant difference(P>0.05)between implementing full process participation and classroom participation in improving students’ physical fitness.However,through testing the basic technical level of directional sports,it is found that there is a significant difference(P<0.05)between male students in the campus short distance test of directional sports after the experiment.The male students in the experimental group have better skills than the male students in the control group.;2.After the experiment,the results of sports learning interest indicators showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of "extracurricular autonomous learning degree" and "extracurricular participation in sports activities"(P<0.05),indicating that "whole process participatory teaching" was helpful to improve students’ interest in learning directional sports;In the indicators of learning motivation,there is a significant difference(P<0.05)between the experimental group and the control group in the dimensions of "fear of failure" and "small group orientation";In the achievement motivation indicators,there was a significant difference(P<0.05)between the experimental group and the control group.Students who participated in the classroom mainly tended to "avoid failure",while students who participated throughout the process mainly tended to "pursue success".3.The evaluation results of the experimental group and the control group on the teaching effectiveness of directional sports courses show that the experimental group and the control group have given certain affirmation in student self-evaluation,student mutual evaluation,and student evaluation feedback,indicating that applying participatory teaching mode to directional sports course teaching can effectively improve teaching effectiveness.Suggestion:1.In participatory teaching,teachers should guide and assist students if they are unable to fully accept them.In the specific implementation process,attention should be paid to students’ exercise load and gradually increase the amount of physical fitness exercises in physical education courses;In the specific implementation process of participatory teaching mode or in the teaching of directional sports courses,the principle of gradual progress should be followed;2.In the participatory teaching,students carry out in the form of groups.The students who participate in the whole process have more forms and time for group contact and common communication,which has cultivated students’ collective consciousness and cohesion.3.It is recommended to promote participatory teaching mode in directional sports course teaching.4.On this basis,other teachers can also be invited to participate in the evaluation,expand the scope of the evaluation,provide feedback from multiple perspectives,and help students provide suggestions based on self reflection.
