| In interpersonal communication,the offense of others occur from time to time,after the offense,the offender’s seeking forgiveness becomes particularly important.In essence,seeking forgiveness is a relationship repair process that involves both the offender and the offended.Knowing when and why the offender seeks forgiveness is as important as knowing when and why the offender forgives.The offender’s attitude and behavior play an important role in reducing the blame and retaliation,and repairing the interpersonal relationship.At the same time,individuals who tend to seek forgiveness in their lives also tend to have better relationships and perform more positively.The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of the type of offence on forgiveness seeking.The type of offence includes the target of offence,intention of offence and severity of offence Second,the influence of grade on forgiveness-seeking,and the development of forgiveness-seeking is related to prosocial behavior and moral development Third,guilt plays a role in the relationship between the type of offense and the type of forgiveness sought.Guilt is related to both offense type and forgiveness seeking,so the role of guilt in the relationship is studied.Content of this study: this study used experimental methods to explore the relationship between guilt and forgiveness seeking in different grades of students in different types of offensive situations.In study 1,we examined the impact of different offenders on forgiveness seeking and the role of guilt.In study 2,we examined the effect of different intention to offend on forgiveness,and the role of guilt in it.Study3 examined the impact of different levels of offense on forgiveness seeking and the role of guilt in three grades.Results of this study: guilt mediates the effect of different types of offense on forgiveness seeking,and there is an interaction between grade and offense type in forgiveness seeking.When the offender was more intimate,the degree of guilt and forgiveness-seeking was higher,and there was an interaction between grade and intimacy in forgiveness-seeking.When there was a difference in intention to offend,the degree of guilt for intentional offending was higher,and the level of forgiveness-seeking was also higher,but the interaction effect of grade and intention to offend on forgiveness-seeking was not significant.The higher the severity of offense,the higher the individual’s guilt and seeking forgiveness,and there was an interaction between grade and the severity of offense.The conclusion of this study is that guilt mediates the effect of different types of offence on forgiveness seeking,and there is an interaction between grade and type of offence in forgiveness seeking.As the grade increases,the understanding of seeking forgiveness deepens. |
