On College Students’ Forgiveness Education

Forgiveness is the psychological activity process when the individual face the hurt form others or self psychological distress. Forgiveness can take the initiative to face the external and internal problems, and take the initiative to give up revenge others or hurt themselves. Forgiveness plays an important role in improving the individual’s physical and mental health, interpersonal harmony and the individual moral quality. The current lack of forgiveness education in Institutions of higher education, college students interpersonal sensitivity, hostility and moral situation of landslide highlighte the necessity of implementation of forgiveness education in universities. This paper discusses the significance of forgiveness education for college students, and explores the theory basis for college students’ forgiveness education and the influencing factors of forgiveness of college students,and then explores educational content, students’ forgiveness education principles and methods of college students’ forgiveness education.To carry out college students’ forgiveness education In colleges and universities has its unique value, it is beneficial to the concept of moral education in colleges and universities, it is exploring to the method of moral education in colleges and universities, and it is also further deepened of the target of moral education in colleges and universities. For the actual life of college students,it also has an important practical significance.It is helpful for the students to face the real inner world, to promote the formation of noble moral character; to help students improving life satisfaction and enhance subjective well-being; to conducive to fix the interpersonal relationship, forming a virtuous cycle of interpersonal relationship.And it is beneficial to the development of empathy ability and enhance the prosocial motivation. About the education of college students about forgiveness, forgiveness of others and forgiveness of self conditions were poor, and negatively correlated with interpersonal sensitivity and hostility. Students’forgiveness education was established in the Marx doctrine theory,the "Harmonious" cultural of China,the ideological and political education psychology,forgiveness theory and positive psychology theory.The factors affecting students’ forgiveness mainly include cognitive factors, affective factors and environmental factors. Therefore, forgiveness education in college students must from the process of cognition, emotion, and goals to carry out.At last,on the basis of content in the forgiveness of college students, the paper expounds internalization method, difference method, simulation method, positive interpretation method of forgiveness of college students education, making a tentative method level induction of forgiveness education in colleges and universities.
