The report of the 20 th Party Congress points out that we should promote the digitization of education and build a learning society with lifelong learning for all people.However,there are contradictions between the people’s demand for higher continuing education and the unbalanced and insufficient development of higher continuing education: such as school teaching is not yet well adapted to the cognitive characteristics and actual needs of adults,and the outstanding problems of insufficient clarity of school orientation,insufficient improvement of system standards and low quality of talent training are not well adapted to the requirements of high-quality development of education.From 2019 to 2022,the new crown epidemic outbreak accelerates the development of online teaching,prompting universities to accelerate the speed of technological change.Therefore,combining the advantages of online education and offline education,following the trend of digitalization of teaching informatization and optimizing higher continuing education is an urgent research topic.This study analyzes the value of education informatization to the teaching of higher education.basing on the literature of higher education continuing education and education informatization.Designs questionnaires and interview outlines according to the Implementation Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Promoting the Reform of Higher Education Continuing Education in the New Era,and takes a provincial key teacher-training university A with a long history and good tradition,which is one of the 100 universities "jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province" as an example.we conducted a comprehensive survey on continuing higher education,analyzed its problems and causes,and proposed improvement strategies.It is expected to serve the development of higher continuing education with high quality.Based on the results of questionnaire and interview,we made a descriptive analysis of the survey status,and summarized the problems and causes of higher continuing education in teaching content,teaching evaluation,teaching resources and teaching management.On the basis of theoretical analysis and survey research,corresponding solution measures are proposed based on information technology and deep integration theory,adult learning theory and non-directive teaching theory:strengthen top-level design of talent cultivation;change education concept and improve education digital literacy;build accurate teaching mode of higher continuing education based on information technology;optimize the construction of online education resources based on information digital technology;promote information technology digital teaching management;establish a sound information digital assessment method.It is expected that study will enrich the theory of continuing higher education in the context of digital transformation at the theoretical level,and further deepen the understanding of continuing higher education.At the practical level,it is hoped that this study can provide favorable reference values for education administration departments,and other institutions to improve the quality of higher continuing education and promote the development of higher continuing education.
