Community governance is an important cornerstone of social governance. The level of community governance directly affects the stability of grassroots governance and the well-being of people’s lives. The professional concept and goal pursuit of rural social work are highly consistent with grassroots community governance. Therefore, local governments have tried to introduce professional social work services into rural areas, and carrying out community building activities has become an effective way for rural social workers to participate in community governance.Based on this, the author combs the previous studies on the roles of rural social workers in community construction, and finds that the role functions of social workers include enabler, collaborator, participant, advocate, service provider, resource linker, etc. However, during the internship in H Village,D City,Hubei Province, the author intervened in the "Beautiful Courtyard" community construction project of H Village as an observer and participant, and found that rural social workers played the roles of administrative workers, main actors and managers in community construction activities, and their roles obviously did not match the roles of social workers in community construction generally recognized by the academic community. In other words, the role of rural social workers is misaligned in the interaction with the various subjects of community construction: rural social workers who should play the role of professional service providers become administrative workers;Rural social workers, who should play the role of advocates, become actual actors instead of community organizations in practical activities.Social workers, who are supposed to act as empowerers, become managers of community residents. In order to solve the above dilemma of misplacement of roles of social workers, the author proposes the following ways to reshape the misplacement of roles of social workers:first, open communication channels, establish professional role subjectivity, develop the community building model of "community Party building + public service",establish independent and cooperative relationship with the government, and reshape the role of "service provider";Second, connect community residents, build an advocacy platform, integrate community resources, accumulate advocacy power, cultivate community self-organization,and reshape the role of "advocate";The third is to excavate community leaders, cultivate community leaders, let residents "take charge",weaken the role of management, empower and empower community residents, and reshape the role of "enabler",so as to reshape the important roles of rural social workers as service providers, community advocates and enablers involved in community construction,so that rural social workers can play the right role. Finally, the author believes that the function of social work in the construction of rural communities depends on the role of rural social workers.Once the role of rural social workers is misplaced, the beautiful blueprint of social work to promote the prosperity and stability of rural society and residents’ life happiness will no longer exist.Especially in the current social background of the full swing of the rural revitalization strategy, social workers should use the professional knowledge and skills of social work to improve the governance of rural communities, help communities solve various development problems brought by rural modernization, and help rural revitalization, which is not only a professional service for social workers, but also a professional mission. In the future, social work will have a lot to do in the construction of a thriving industry, livable ecology, civilized village style, effective governance, and rich life of the rural revitalization of the general pattern, and great achievements.
