| In recent years,with the rapid development of the aging process and the increasing improvement of people’s living standards,people have paid more and more attention to the study of the well-being of the elderly in order to develop interventions aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly.However,the liberalization of the fertility policy and the lag in the development of social childcare ability also make intergenerational care the primary choice of most families.Therefore,it is worth paying attention to whether the life satisfaction of elderly people who support the elderly in an environment characterized by intergenerational care will be affected to some extent.Based on the social reality and the professional background of social work for the elderly,this paper explores the impact of intergenerational care on the life satisfaction of the elderly,and starts from the status quo of role playing in the process of intergenerational care for the elderly,based on the perspective of social support,seeks the space where professional services can intervene,enriches the theory of social work in the field of elderly services,and builds the social support network system of intergenerational care activities for the elderly,To meet the actual needs of their own roles when raising grandchildren,so as to improve the life satisfaction of the elderly.Firstly,this paper combs the relevant research on intergenerational care and life satisfaction through literature review to determine the specific research content and direction.On this basis,the sample of the2018 China Family Health and Elderly Care Tracking Survey(CHARLS)was selected to screen the relevant information of the elderly in line with the research direction as the information source.The life satisfaction of the elderly is divided into five dimensions according to the questionnaire;Intergenerational care can be divided into "providing" and "not providing";The intensity of intergenerational care is divided into "low intensity" and "high intensity" according to the care time.On this basis,the independent variable,control variable and dependent variable are tested by t test to verify the correlation.Based on the classification of "life satisfaction",this study uses the Ordered Probit model for regression analysis.At last,it carries out a heterogeneity analysis on the impact of intergenerational care on the life satisfaction of the elderly by gender sample,age sample and offspring economic support sample.The results showed that the life satisfaction of the elderly who provided intergenerational care was significantly higher than that of the elderly who did not provide intergenerational care,showing a positive correlation;Intergenerational care has a significant negative impact on the life satisfaction of the elderly in terms of the intensity of care;Compared with the male elderly,the female elderly are more likely to obtain the conditions for improving life satisfaction from the activities of intergenerational rearing;The young elderly aged 60 to 64 are more satisfied with their lives when raising their grandchildren,while the grandparents aged over 75 will be hit by their life satisfaction in the process of intergenerational rearing;Elderly people with relatively high level of economic support for their offspring also tend to be satisfied with their life evaluation.The research conclusion of this paper believes that on the one hand,intergenerational care can bring beneficial effects on the life satisfaction of the elderly,but at the same time,the improvement of the intensity of care will also create adverse conditions for the life satisfaction of the elderly.Therefore,we should create a favorable environment to maintain the intensity of intergenerational care of the elderly at a healthy and sustainable level.Based on this,we first analyze the difficulties and challenges faced by the elderly in the process of intergenerational care from the perspective of role theory,comprehensively explore the causes of their difficulties,and then from the perspective of social work In terms of family and community level and social policy,we should build a good intergenerational care environment to further improve the life satisfaction of the elderly. |
