Early childhood reading activities refer to educational activities in which children from 3to 6 years old acquire attitudes,expectations,emotions and behaviors related to written language through exposure to written language.Early reading plays a positive role in preschool children’s overall language development,social development,cognitive development and future reading comprehension and academic achievement.In recent years,the value of early reading to the development of preschool children has been increasingly valued by the society,but there are some teachers,do not know how to carry out early reading activities.Around us,we often see many early reading activities evolve into literacy,mechanical memory or the acquisition of reason.In view of this,the researcher learned about the overall status of early reading activities of children through questionnaire survey and interview,and then focused on the development of early reading activities in the kindergarten of the researcher through interview and observation record.Form a research community with teachers in the kindergarten,take children in the kindergarten as the research object,and carry out the design and implementation strategy research of early reading activity program under the guidance of the whole language theory.To help children form a complete reading experience,to lay a good foundation for their lifelong learning,but also to provide front-line workers with a set of practical early reading activities program.This study mainly adopts action research method,supplemented by questionnaire,observation and interview method.First of all,questionnaire survey,observation and interview methods were used to understand the overall status of early reading activities of children and the development of early reading activities in the kindergarten where the researcher worked,to clarify the problems and develop a general research plan.Secondly,through the action research method,the kindergarten teachers form a research community.Starting from the current situation of the activities,this paper tracks the process of constructing the experience of early reading activities for children,and studies the design and implementation strategies of early reading activities for children under the guidance of the language view,learning view,curriculum view and teaching view of the whole language theory by identifying problems,making plans,taking actions and reflecting.Based on the whole language theory,the design principles of early childhood reading activities mainly include the principle of integration,the principle of authenticity,and the principle of constructivism.Through the continuous adjustment of action research,we conclude that the program of early childhood reading activity based on the whole language theory mainly consists of activity objectives,activity content,activity implementation and activity evaluation.The design and implementation of the activity program can be considered from the following aspects.First,in the early reading activities of children,the germination of reading interest,improve reading autonomy;Develop good reading habits and realize the connection between young and young science;Integrate into the excellent traditional culture,enhance cultural confidence;Improve reading ability and realize the conversion of spoken and written language.Second,in terms of activity content,we can choose excellent classic picture books and real life scenes around us to read.Third,in the implementation of activities,create real and meaningful language situation,stimulate children’s interest in reading;To carry out early reading activities and improve reading ability by combining audio-visual teaching and doing;Provide real reading and writing events,linking life experiences;Unite home and community forces to cultivate good reading habits.Fourthly,in terms of activity evaluation and reflection,the construction of children’s cognitive meaning is the starting point of activity evaluation.Conduct activity evaluation in children’s reading process;Set up early reading portfolio for comprehensive evaluation.
