Family Mobility Pattern,settlement Intention And Fertility Decision Of The New Generation

As important factors affecting the allocation of family resources,the family mobility pattern and settlement intention of the new generation of floating population affect their fertility decisions.The new generation of family mobility patterns can be divided into three types: the mobility pattern of couple family,the mobility pattern of two generations family and the mobility pattern of three generations family.This paper selects the dynamic monitoring survey data of China’s floating population in 2018,and uses Logit regression pattern to compare and analyze the effects of three family mobility patterns and settlement intention on the fertility decisions of the new generation of floating population.The findings are as follows:(1)In the whole sample,compared with the two generations family mobility pattern,the couple family mobility pattern,the three generations family mobility pattern and the settlement intention all increase the probability of the new generation floating population choosing to have children;(2)In the one-child sample,compared with the couple family mobility pattern,the three generations family mobility pattern increased the probability of the new generation of floating population choosing to have children;The willingness to settle also increases the probability that the new generation of floating population chooses to give birth;(3)In the two-child sample,compared with the two generations family mobility pattern,the couple family mobility pattern has no significant effect on fertility,but three generations family mobility pattern increases the probability of the new generation of floating population choosing to have children;The willingness to settle also improves the fertility willingness of the new generation of floating population.In addition,the interaction analysis between the new generation’s family-oriented mobility pattern and settlement intention shows that:(1)The interaction between the mobility pattern of the couple’s family and settlement intention is significant,and the regression coefficient is positive,indicating that the interaction term between the mobility pattern of the couple’s family and settlement intention has a synergistic effect on reproductive decision-making;(2)The interaction between the mobility pattern of three generations family and settlement intention is significant,and the regression coefficient is negative,indicating that the interaction term between the mobility pattern of three generations family and settlement intention has an inhibitory effect on fertility decision-making.However,according to the P value,the interaction of migration pattern of three generations family and settlement intention of inhibit the promoting effect of migration pattern of three generations family and settlement intention on fertility,but the overall effect is positive.
