Since the 21 st century, with the advent of information technology and globalization, the STEAM concept has become a popular research concept in various countries around the world.STEAM education in China is in its early stages, mainly drawing on research results from other countries.Exploratory teaching is a teaching method that encourages students to independently and actively explore problems and master the steps and methods of problem-solving.This teaching method allows students to participate more actively in learning, stimulates their desire for knowledge, and thus promotes their comprehensive development.Establish concepts and construct a cognitive model and learning method framework that suits oneself.Long term separate teaching of information technology courses is not conducive to improving students’ overall computational thinking and problem-solving abilities.STEAM education,as an interdisciplinary and comprehensive educational approach that integrates with information technology classrooms, has received attention from various fields. Before carrying out the research,we first made a survey of the current situation of information technology courses in junior high school.Through analysis,we found that the current problems of information technology courses in junior high school were that students’ information literacy differed greatly, teachers and students had a more traditional way of getting along with each other,STEAM education philosophy, inquiry teaching application and information technology course teaching were difficult to really achieve.Based on theoretical foundations, construct a design framework for exploratory teaching activities in junior high school information technology courses under the STEAM concept; In the three rounds of action research, the framework is constantly revised, and three rounds of teaching activity practice are carried out according to the activity process through preparation analysis, teaching design, teaching implementation, and teaching evaluation according to the design process of inquiry based teaching activities for junior high school information technology courses under the concept of STEAM.After three rounds of teaching activities, the teaching effect was evaluated, the questionnaire was analyzed, and the interviews were summarized. It was concluded that it was feasible to implement the exploratory teaching activities under the STEAM concept in the information technology classroom of junior high school. The three rounds of action research in this study were carried out smoothly, and the students responded well;Implementing exploratory teaching activities under the STEAM concept in junior high school information technology classrooms can help improve students’ problem-solving abilities and computational thinking.Guide students to approach real-life problems and utilize real-life resources to solve problems, thereby enhancing their problem-solving abilities;Implementing exploratory teaching activities under the STEAM concept in junior high school information technology classrooms helps students integrate knowledge from various disciplines, master scientific exploration methods, guide students to actively think, and help learners develop creative thinking. The next research direction is provided on how to practice information technology teaching in primary and secondary schools.
