Information technology education emphasizes that students should be engaged in practical activities, using information technology to obtain, analyze, process information and use it to solve practical problems.Although some schools have robotics courses, some schools still use traditional demonstration teaching methods because of insufficient conditions, causing some students to face some problems in information technology classrooms: the teaching method is single, students have little time to actively think about problems in the classroom;there is a lack of opportunities for interaction between teachers and students, students and students,etc.Topic-based teaching is an inquiry-based teaching method based on the core ideas of constructivist theory, which has a certain promoting effect on the improvement of problem-solving ability.Based on the above background, this research designed thematic teaching activities with the purpose of improving students' problem-solving ability and proposed corresponding strategies.First, the concept of thematic teaching and problem-solving ability and the current research situation were reviewed, and the research questions of this research were put forward. The problem-solving ability of the eighth grade students is investigated, and the problems in the problem-solving ability training process are clear.Secondly, the thematic teaching process is designed according to the theoretical foundation and the principles of teaching design to improve the problem-solving ability of the thematic teaching activities;and finally;Adopting quasi-experimental research methods, selecting two classes of eighth grade students from A school in L city as the research objects, conducting a three-month theme-based teaching activity practice, through the question-solving ability questionnaire data and work scores of the experimental class and the control class Analyze the interview data with teachers and students to verify the effectiveness of the teaching activity design and propose relevant strategies. The important understandings of this research are as follows:(1)Thematic teaching activities can improve the problem-solving ability. There are significant differences between the experimental class and the control class in the attitude of facing problems, the ideas and strategies of problem solving, and the quality of problem solving;(2)Thematic teaching activities can improve students' work performance;(3)According to the problems in the teaching process and the analysis of related data and reasons, six teaching methods to improve problem-solving ability are proposed from the three dimensions of problem-solving ability Strategies, that is,the connection of knowledge and skills with the theme, the combination of the theme and life;creating problem situations to guide students to analyze problems;sharing platform resources to promote student exchanges and discussions;cooperative learning, students sharing design ideas for works;carrying out self-evaluation,mutual evaluation,Teacher evaluation activities promote students to optimize their works;students reflect on the production process of works, and teachers summarize problem experience.
