Modesty behavior is an important manifestation of preschoolers’ prosocial behavior,and the cultivation of it is beneficial for children to gain social recognition and promote their healthy development.Role play is one of the most common games in kindergartens and plays an important role in cultivating children’s humility.Role play is a process in which children play roles and reproduce social life through imitation and imagination.In role games,young children assume social roles,abide by social norms,and strengthen their social cognition in the game.Moreover,this strengthened social cognition will unconsciously migrate to the real life of young children to cultivate their humble behavior.This study focuses on role play and collects research results on children’s humble behavior and role play through literature methods.Taking middle class children as the research object,we randomly selected middle class children from D Kindergarten in M City.Using observation and case analysis methods,we consulted relevant literature,combined with the scale of relevant research,and designed role games with different themes and forms.A pretest was conducted around the study object.Prior to the formal start of the pretest,a one-week status survey was conducted to fully understand the subjects.Using an experimental method,the study subjects were divided into experimental classes and control classes.The experimental class received 5-week intervention in role play activities,while the control class received role play education normally.Finally,through sorting out experimental data and designing role play activities,the researcher draws the following conclusions from three aspects: the overall characteristics of children’s humility behavior,influencing factors,analysis of test results,and analysis of role play design: First,in role play,there are differences in gender and willingness to humility among middle class children.Girls tend to behave more modestly than boys,and young children tend to be humble towards familiar peers,with few willing to take the initiative to be humble.Secondly,in terms of peers,young children tend to make modest behavior towards peers with good relationships,and are more willing to make modest behavior in communication and negotiation with peers.Thirdly,teachers play marginal roles in role games,which can help resolve conflicts between young children in role games and help them develop games.Based on the above research results,in order to better play the role of role games and promote the healthy development of modesty behavior among middle class children,the researchers propose several operational suggestions for kindergarten teachers: First,carry out the "Star of Modesty" mutual evaluation activity to let children feel the joy of self realization.Secondly,carry out continuous role games to strengthen children’s sense of humility.Third,pay attention to generative teaching.Fourth,actively reflect after role games and innovate the design of role game activities.
