Prosocial lie is a kind of behavior that deliberately transmits wrong information to mislead others for the benefit of others.As an important part of children’s moral development,it not only has an impact on the current peer relationship and socialization of school-age children,but also has a far-reaching impact on children’s future social adaptation.Therefore,it is of scientific and practical value to study the influencing factors and mechanism of prosocial lies in children.It has been found that executive function is an important influencing factors of children’s prosocial lies.However,current studies mostly focus on the cold executive function,ignoring the role of hot executive function in the development of prosocial lies,and what is the mechanism of executive function on prosocial lies,whether the relationship between them is affected by emotional understanding is unknown.Based on the previous research,this study took 208 children aged 7-11 as research objects to investigate the development characteristics of prosocial lies,as well as the influence and mechanism of executive function on prosocial lies.Study 1 explored the developmental characteristics of children’s prosocial lies and lie maintenance ability by using the helping scenario task.The results showed that:(1)The prosocial lies of children aged 7-11 increase with age.;(2)After excluding children who did not lie,the lie maintenance ability of children aged 7-11 gradually increased with age.Study 2 explored the effects of "cold" executive function and "hot" executive function on prosocial lies and the regulation of emotional understanding.The results showed that:(1)Cold executive function has a significant effect on children’s prosocial lies and lie maintenance ability.Specifically,working memory,inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility positively predict children’s prosocial lies;In addition,cognitive flexibility can also positively predict children’s lie maintenance ability.(2)Hot executive function has a significant impact on children’s prosocial lies.Specifically,delay discount can positively predict children’s prosocial lies.(4)Emotional understanding moderated the relationship between working memory and prosocial lies.Compared with high emotional understanding,the working memory of children with low emotional understanding has a stronger negative predictive effect on prosocial lies..This study draws the following conclusions: with the increase of age,the prosocial lie and lie maintenance ability of children aged 7-11 gradually improve;Cold and hot executive functions promote the development of prosocial lies;Emotional understanding plays a regulatory role in working memory and prosocial lies.Based on the above research results,the following educational countermeasures are proposed:(1)Pay attention to the development of children’s prosocial lies;(2)Focus on developing children’s executive function;(3)Enlighten and induce to improve children’s emotional understanding ability.
