The World Obesity Federation predicts that by 2025,one in five adults worldwide will be affected by obesity.Obesity has become a health problem worldwide, and hidden obesity is a kind of body condition before obesity appears, which shows that the body mass index is in the normal range but the percentage of body fat is high.Compared with dominant obesity,"hidden obesity" is easy to be ignored,so it is more dangerous to people’s health. At present, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases have appeared young trend, hidden obesity and lipid metabolism abnormalities are closely related, lipid abnormalities usually lead to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Time-restricted feeding as a form of intermittent fasting therapy has many potential health benefits.Unlike other dietary intervention models,time-restricted eating emphasizes eating within a specific period of time without restricting the amount or type of calories consumed. This type of eating is closer to a normal eating pattern,so adding this dietary strategy to adult life can promote optimal health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. In recent years, many studies on Timerestricted feeding have shown that Time-restricted feeding can reduce body weight, reduce blood pressure, blood lipids and promote metabolic health, and has a high compliance in this process. It is a safe and reliable dietary program.Therefore,Time-restricted feeding may be a low-cost and effective intervention for female college students with hidden obesity. Objective:To conduct an 8-week Time-restricted feeding and walking exercise intervention on hidden obese female college students and to observe the changes in body morphological indexes, blood pressure, body composition, bone mineral density, and blood lipid levels in the subjects before and after the intervention, and to further investigate the effects of Time-restricted feeding combined with exercise versus single Timerestricted feeding and exercise on hidden obese female college students.Methods:Seventy-six female college students aged 18-22 years with hidden obesity were used as the study subjects.A randomized grouping was used to divide the study population into four groups, namely, control group(N=19),Time-restricted feeding group(N=19),Exercise group(N=20),and Time-restricted feeding +Exercise group(N=19).Control group: no interventions were performed, and the original lifestyle and exercise habits were required to be maintained.Time-restricted feeding group: 8-hour Time-restricted feeding method was used.Exercise group: Participants walked 11 000-12 499 steps per day.Time-restricted feeding+Exercise group: Combined Time-restricted feeding and Exercise group interventions. All four groups started the intervention in strict accordance with the established experimental protocol, with a period of 8 weeks.Body morphological indicators, blood pressure, body composition, bone mineral density and blood lipid levels were tested before and after the intervention,respectively.Results:1.Compared with the group before and after the intervention, the body weight and body mass index of the subjects in the three groups of Time-restricted feeding group, exercise group,Time-restricted feeding +exercise group decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the hip circumference of the subjects in the Timerestricted feeding group was significantly reduced(P<0.05).2.Compared before and after the intervention, the percentage of body fat in the two groups of subjects in the exercise group,Time-restricted feeding + exercise group increased significantly(P<0.01);there was no significant change in adipose tissue in the three groups(P>0.05);the lean meat tissue of the subjects in the three groups of Time-restricted feeding group, exercise group,Time-restricted feeding + exercise group was significantly reduced(P<0.01),and there was no significant change in the overall bone density of the three groups(P>0.05).3.Compared with the group before and after the intervention, the total cholesterol level of the subjects in the three groups of Time-restricted feeding group, exercise group,Time-restricted feeding + exercise group increased significantly(P<0.05);triglyceride levels in the Time-restricted feeding group(P<0.05);highdensity lipoprotein in the Time-restricted feeding + exercise group increased significantly(P<0.01);and the low-density lipoprotein in the two groups of subjects in the Time-restricted feeding group and Time-restricted feeding + exercise group increased significantly(P<0.05).4.After the intervention, there was no significant difference between the four indicators of weight, body mass index, waist and hip circumference, adipose tissue, lean tissue, blood pressure, bone density and blood lipids in the three groups of Time-restricted feeding group, exercise group,Time-restricted feeding + exercise group(P>0.05).5.Further comparison of the changes before and after the indicators found that compared with the control group, the subjects in the Time-restricted feeding group,Time-restricted feeding + exercise group had significant weight reduction(P<0.05),and the body mass index of the three groups of subjects decreased significantly(P<0.05).Compared with the Time-restricted feeding group, the percentage change of body fat in the exercise group,Time-restricted feeding + exercise group increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the control group, the lean tissue changes of the three groups of subjects were significantly reduced(P<0.05).Conclusions:Time-restricted feeding can reduce the subject’s body weight, body mass index, hip circumference, and effectively control the percentage of fat,but it will cause blood lipid levels to rise and lean tissue to decrease.Time-restricted feeding combined with exercise interventions did not show the advantages of body morphological indicators, body composition, bone density and blood lipid levels than simply Time-restricted feeding or simple exercise interventions.Therefore,Time-restricted feeding cannot be used as the best choice for female college students with hidden obesity to prevent obesity and lose fat.
