On July 24,2021,the General Offices of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the homework burden and After-school Training burden for Students in Compulsory Education.The "double reduction" policy reduces the burden of students ’homework and the burden of students’ after-school training.As soon as the document was issued,it attracted the attention of education departments across the country,and all kinds of primary and secondary schools implemented the "double reduction" policy with unprecedented strength.The study took 567 junior high school students in G District of Nanchang to investigate the reality of the objective academic burden and the subjective perceived academic burden under the background of the "double reduction" policy.Through questionnaire survey and interview survey,the status of objective academic burden is analyzed as follows: sleep time is late,sleep time is insufficient;the completion time is excessive;the examination frequency is too high and the teaching progress is accelerated;the after-school service time reaches the standard,but occasionally occupied;the off-campus training is improved,but it still exists.The subjective academic burden felt by students is mainly related to students ’attitude towards learning and their learning ability.The learning attitude is mainly reflected in three dimensions: students’ cognition of academic burden,students ’emotion towards academic burden and students’ behavioral tendency towards academic burden.Through the investigation,the academic burden of students is: learning emotion is positive and the learning ability needs to be improved.Through significant analysis of background variables,gender variables have significant differences in emotional dimensions;grade variables have no significant differences in each dimension;parents have no significant differences in each dimension;achievement level variables have no significant differences in each dimensions;and family parenting variables have no significant differences in each dimensions.Through the analysis of in-depth interviews,the causes of academic burden mainly come from the deviation of parents’ education concept,the school education mode emphasizes wisdom rather than morality,and the tendency of social resources to allocate education.To reduce the burden is truly effective,parents,schools and society need to form a joint force.It requires parents to change the education idea;schools to uphold the quality education concept and the society to uphold the dynamic talent concept.
