Since the implementation of higher education enrollment expansion in the late 20 th century, higher education has gradually changed from elite to popular. In 2022,the number of college graduates in China exceeded 10 million for the first time.As the number of graduates increases year by year, the employment situation of college students becomes increasingly severe, intensifying the pressure of employment competition for college students.By combing relevant literature,it is found that social support,as an external resource, can provide material and spiritual help for individuals, and to some extent affect the employment pressure of college students. At the same time,as a valuable information resource, information capital can help college students obtain the employment information they need under the severe employment situation, deeply understand the development and change of the employment market and employment environment, improve the success rate of job hunting and relieve the employment pressure. Therefore,to explore the influence of social support and information capital on the employment pressure of college students is of great significance to relieve the employment pressure of college students and help them achieve better and more stable employment.Under the guidance of stress theory, social support theory and information capital theory, social support is divided into subjective support, objective support and support availability.Information capital is divided into information acquisition channels, information effect perception, information acquisition quality and information acquisition ability. The employment pressure of college students can be divided into career orientation, professional demand, comprehensive quality and employment expectation.A total of 1106 college students from six universities in Xinjiang were selected as research objects, and data were collected by literature analysis, questionnaire survey and interview.Descriptive statistics, differentiation analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were carried out for the study on the influence of social support and information capital on the employment pressure of college students, and the mediating effect of information capital was tested. The results show that:(1)From the mean point of view, the subjective support dimension of social support has the highest mean, the information acquisition quality dimension of information capital has the highest mean, and the professional demand dimension of employment pressure has the highest mean.(2)All dimensions of social support and information capital have a significant negative correlation with the employment pressure of college students.Compared with social support, information capital has a higher correlation with employment pressure of college students.(3)All dimensions of social support and information capital have a significant negative impact on the employment pressure of college students.Among them, the regression coefficient of social support is-0.535 and that of information capital is-0.622.(4)Information capital plays an intermediary role in the relationship between social support and employment pressure of college students. The indirect effect of information capital on the influence of social support on employment pressure is-0.266.(5)According to the interview, there is a mismatch between supply and demand in the job market, and there are more graduates in most positions;Individual comprehensive quality to be improved, lack of competitiveness; The inconsistency between employment expectation and actual employment is an important factor leading to the employment pressure of college students. In order to give full play to the role of social support and information capital in alleviating the employment pressure of college students, based on the research hypothesis and conclusion, this study puts forward the following suggestions: the government should play a functional role to remove the obstacles to employment;Colleges and universities should enhance employment services to solve employment problems;College students should improve themselves, improve employment competitiveness. |
