Learning adaptability is a tendency of students’ ability to adapt to the changes that occur in the learning process in a positive state,i.e.,the ability to adapt to learning.Since the 1990 s,scholars have conducted a series of studies on students’ learning adaptability at different stages.Related studies have shown that the third grade is a turning point in the multifaceted psychological development of primary school students,a critical period for development and growth, and that some third grade students experience maladjustment in learning and a substantial increase in learning adaptation problems. Therefore, schools, teachers and parents should take measures to form educational synergy to help third grade primary school students pass the transition period smoothly so that they can adapt to their future learning life faster and better.Based on the data of third grade students in two primary school in Weifang City,Shandong Province, this study used a combination of literature analysis, questionnaires, interviews, and correlation analysis to first screen and revise the questions of the<Learning Adaptation Test> Manual(middle grade)to make it consistent with the cognitive level of third grade students and to make the test content more relevant and valid;Secondly, the level of learning adaptability between third grade students of different genders was described, where the differences in daily educator, father’s education, mother’s education, and student achievement on each dimension were described in detail; Finally, the overall situation of third grade students’ learning adaptability and the status of each dimension were analyzed, and the results of difference analysis, regression analysis and interview analysis were combined to identify the factors affecting third grade students’ learning adaptability and put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. The main findings of this study are as follows:(1)Third grade primary school students’ learning adaptability is average overall;(2)Third grade primary school students are better adjusted in terms of learning attitudes, learning techniques, and physical and mental health, while they are less adjusted in terms of listening methods, home environment, school environment, and independence and perseverance;(3)There is no significant difference in learning adaptability between third grade primary school students of different genders;(4)Daily educator, mother’s education, father’s education and achievement all have significant effects on third grade students’ adaptability to learning.Based on the findings, this study proposes a "school-led-teacher-led-parentassisted" solution: Firstly, schools should raise the importance of learning adaptation and conduct regular training exchanges;expand home-school cooperation methods and encourage two-way cooperation;pay attention to the psychological changes of students and enhance the ability to adapt to learning.Secondly, teachers should fully consider students’ characteristics to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching;optimize classroom evaluation methods and break the score-only theory;take the initiative to understand students and build a harmonious teacher-student relationship;expand the connotation of subject knowledge and penetrate the cultivation of perseverance. Finally, parents should update the concept of family education and create a good family learning atmosphere;adopt a positive parenting style and guide children to face praise and criticism squarely;abandon the spoiling mentality and improve your child’s interpersonal skills. |
