The Research On The Coupling Coordination Of Higher Education Investment And Economic Development In Jiangxi Province

In the process of Chinese-style modernization,it is clear that China’s crude mode of economic development,which relies mainly on high inputs and high energy consumption,is unsustainable and urgently needs to rely on a new development concept and a new mode of development driven by science and technology innovation to achieve high-quality economic development.As the main way to accumulate innovative human capital and scientific and technological capital,investment in higher education plays a crucial role in transforming the economic development mode and optimizing the economic structure.At present,to a certain extent,there is a disconnect between the investment in higher education and the level of economic development both nationwide and locally.Therefore,it becomes necessary and urgent to promote the harmonization of higher education investment and economic development.This paper analyzes the current situation of higher education investment and economic development in Jiangxi Province,constructs the evaluation system of the coupling coordination degree of higher education investment and economic development in Jiangxi Province,and selects the data related to higher education investment and economic development in Jiangxi Province from 2006 to 2020 as the research samples,based on the theoretical research results and practical exploration experience of the relationship between higher education investment and economic development at home and abroad.Based on the coupling coordination degree model and gray correlation model,the coupling coordination level of higher education input and economic development in Jiangxi Province and its influencing factors are empirically analyzed,revealing the problems in the coordinated development of higher education input and economy in Jiangxi Province,and then the corresponding optimization strategies are proposed in a targeted manner.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The coupling relationship between investment in higher education and economic development in Jiangxi Province is mainly reflected in two aspects: firstly,investment in higher education in Jiangxi Province can provide high-quality human capital guarantee and scientific and technological support for local economic development;secondly,economic development in Jiangxi Province can provide financial support for investment in higher education in Jiangxi Province,while it also determines the scale and structure of investment in higher education for talents of various levels and disciplines;(2)Overall,the investment in higher education and local economic development in Jiangxi Province have both maintained a continuous growth in the past 15 years and achieved remarkable results,but there is still a large gap compared to other central provinces and the national average,which is reflected both in the efficiency of human,financial and material investment in higher education and the output of scientific research results in Jiangxi Province,and also in the quantity and quality of economic development in Jiangxi Province;(3)Although the level of coupling and coordination between higher education input and economic development in Jiangxi Province has gradually tended to good coupling and coordination from moderate disorder in the past 15 years,the level of higher education input in Jiangxi Province generally lags behind the level of local economic development in terms of the type of coupling and coordination;(4)Among the main influencing factors of the coupling coordination degree of higher education input and economic development in Jiangxi Province,the correlations are energy utilization efficiency,investment in teaching and research equipment of universities,number of graduate students,economic scale level,number of full-time teachers,etc.in descending order;(5)In view of the existing problems reflected in the coordinated development of higher education investment and economy in Jiangxi Province in terms of human investment,financial investment,teaching and research equipment investment and the efficiency of scientific research output,in order to promote the coordinated development of higher education investment and economy of Jiangxi Province with higher quality,we should focus on improving the quantity and quality of graduate education,strengthening the construction of university faculty,stimulating the innovative vitality of university researchers,as well as increasing higher education financial investment,strengthening the management of university teaching and research equipment,and accelerating the output and transformation of university scientific research results.
