Culture is the foundation of a nation,the lifeblood of its inheritance and development;culture is also the foundation of a country,its soft power to gain a foothold in the world.Chinese traditional culture is the civilization of the Chinese nation for thousands of years and contains valuable treasures,with far-reaching scientific and humanistic values.The learning of Chinese traditional culture should start at an early age and penetrate into students’ life and learning in a comprehensive and multifaceted way,especially in the elementary school science curriculum,where cultural literacy is lacking,and should be integrated into Chinese traditional culture.However,studies on the literature of Chinese traditional culture education show that there is little integration of traditional culture education in the elementary school science curriculum,lack of combing and integration of traditional culture curriculum resources,and no systematic and specific teaching methods and processes.Based on the existing research results and conclusions,this study adopts an analytical and inductive approach to organize the current situation of the distribution of Chinese traditional culture in elementary school science textbooks of the Humanities,Textbook,Su,and Yue editions,and finds that Chinese traditional culture is introduced in all editions of elementary school science textbooks,but the content is small,single in form,and mostly in the extension sessions.On this basis,this paper lists the traditional Chinese culture that can be incorporated based on the curriculum content and academic requirements in the latest Compulsory Education Science Curriculum Standards(2022 edition),and sorts out the curriculum resources that incorporate traditional Chinese culture in the elementary school science curriculum.From these,three contents,namely,revolving scenic lamp,shadow puppet show and movable type printing,were selected for the teaching design and practice of the elementary school science curriculum incorporating traditional Chinese culture;the principles and methods of teaching design were proposed,and the teaching model of the elementary school science curriculum based on traditional Chinese culture was constructed with reference to the existing teaching model.Conduct teaching design based on the constructed teaching model and practice teaching in the internship school.Through teaching practice,the following conclusions are drawn: First,elementary school science teaching that incorporates excellent Chinese traditional culture can effectively enhance students’ learning interests and motivation.Second,elementary school science curriculum that incorporates excellent Chinese traditional culture can enhance the nurturing value of elementary school science curriculum.Third,the elementary science curriculum that incorporates Chinese traditional culture is conducive to the development of students’ comprehensive abilities.Fourth,elementary school science curriculum that incorporates excellent Chinese traditional culture helps the inheritance and development of excellent Chinese traditional culture.Overall,through the analysis of traditional culture education and the elementary school science curriculum,this study proposes suggestions and methods for introducing Chinese traditional culture content in the elementary school science curriculum by combining teaching practices.These suggestions and methods are important references and inspirations for the teaching reform of the elementary school science curriculum and the promotion of traditional culture education.
