As a higher-level value orientation among the five aspects of core literacy in chemistry,"scientific attitude and social responsibility" literacy shows the overall nurturing function and value of chemistry,and research on its cultivation and development is indispensable,but the literacy education in front-line teaching has not been given due attention.The history of science,as an important part of scientific literacy,has a powerful nurturing function,and the IHV teaching model,as a classical teaching method for teaching the history of science,can give full play to the nurturing function of the history of science by applying it to literacy education.Based on the background of the goal of moral education,a study was conducted on whether the IHV teaching mode can develop the literacy of "scientific attitude and social responsibility".Firstly,we conducted a theoretical study.The purpose,meaning,and content of the study were introduced,as well as the educational theories supporting the study.Secondly,a survey was conducted to investigate the current situation.Questionnaires and scales were used to investigate the teaching of history of chemistry in high school classrooms and the "scientific attitude and social responsibility" literacy of high school students,and interviews were used to collect front-line teachers’ opinions and suggestions on the application of the IHV teaching model to promote the development of "scientific attitude and social responsibility"literacy of high school students."Finally,the results of the survey were analyzed to draw corresponding conclusions.Thirdly,pedagogical theory analysis and teaching practice were carried out.Based on the problems found in the research,the teaching process of the IHV teaching model and the teaching strategies for developing students’ "scientific attitudes and social responsibility" was proposed and used as the theoretical basis for the teaching practice research.The subjects of the teaching practice are all students in two classes,and the contents of the teaching practice are "Wu Yunchu and MSG(monosodium glutamate)" in Chapter 4,Section 3 and "Staudinger and Polymer Chemistry" in Chapter 5,Section 1 of the Selective Compulsory 3 of High School Chemistry of the Human Education Version.The other class was taken as the control class and the normal teaching mode was adopted.The effectiveness of the teaching practice was tested by administering a measurement scale to students in both classes and comparing the literacy of the pre-test and post-test.Finally,the conclusions of the study were drawn.The main conclusions were as follows: the students showed significant improvement in the two dimensions of truth and inquiry in the science attitude unit,and the three dimensions of responsibility to human beings,responsibility to society,and responsibility to resources and environment in the social responsibility unit.Therefore,the IHV teaching model can effectively promote the development of "scientific attitudes and social responsibility" literacy among high school students. |
