| Whole book reading has always played an important role in language education,and the Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)presents "whole book reading" as a learning task group for the first time,indicating that whole book reading is getting more and more attention.In order to break through the limitations of single-book teaching,the unified elementary school language textbook includes Ye Shengtao’s The Scarecrow as the recommended reading book for the first book of Grade3,"Happy Reading".Since The Scarecrow was included in the unified textbook late,and elementary school teachers are not particularly familiar with whole-book reading,the research on the whole-book reading of The Scarecrow is relatively weak.Therefore,studying the current situation of whole book reading teaching of The Scarecrow and proposing targeted improvement strategies can deepen teachers’ understanding of whole book reading and provide them with reasonable teaching suggestions to help them improve and enhance the quality of whole book reading teaching of The Scarecrow.This paper focuses on the following three issues:What is the actual situation of teaching "The Scarecrow" whole book reading? How to optimize the teaching of The Scarecrow? How to implement the teaching of "The Scarecrow" whole book reading?This study uses the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey and case study analysis,and on the basis of sorting out and analyzing the related research results and defining the core concepts,it determines the main dimensions of studying the whole book reading teaching practice of The Scarecrow,prepares a questionnaire to investigate the whole book reading teaching of The Scarecrow,and implements the survey with some students in three elementary school in X city of H province as the research subjects,and combines the survey data and The current situation was analyzed in four dimensions:reading cognition,reading habits,reading instruction,and reading environment,respectively.After understanding the current situation of teaching,a three-month trial teaching activity of teaching the whole book "The Scarecrow" was started.The study concluded the following conclusions: First,the teaching of the whole book "The Scarecrow" has problems such as students’ low interest in reading,students’ weak reading ability,insufficient teaching guidance methods,and poor reading environment at home and school.The main reasons for these problems are: students’ reading cognition needs to be improved,students’ reading habit needs to be cultivated,teachers’ teaching concept needs to be updated,and the importance of home and school needs to be improved.Second,the use of task-driven teaching method and the establishment of reading community can effectively improve the teaching effect of the whole book reading of The Scarecrow.Thirdly,we use the task-driven teaching method as the theoretical support to design the teaching process of "introduction lesson-advance lesson-sharing lesson" and explain the teaching design,so as to provide an operation plan for teaching the whole book of The Scarecrow.In view of the fact that the results of the application of "The Scarecrow" whole book reading teaching are mostly focused on the optimization of strategies,the researcher provides a case implementation based on the teaching process and tries to analyze and elaborate on it. |
