Primary school is the basic stage of compulsory education.As a special group of teachers,primary school head teachers often perform multiple functions,including completing established teaching tasks and assuming the responsibility of class management.In addition,school administrative work and dominant work under multiple leadership have led to problems such as long working hours,high work intensity,and excessive affairs unrelated to education,teaching,and class management.This has led to physical and mental exhaustion,weight bearing,and a decline in satisfaction and happiness among class teachers.Some schools have even experienced a "shortage of class teachers" phenomenon.Therefore,in order to build a good team of class teachers and achieve good development of education,we must reduce the burden on class teachers.Based on the collection and collation of relevant literature,a survey was conducted in2022 with class teachers,school administrators,and students of public primary schools in J County,Shandong Province.After reading and sorting out the literature,using the research methods of questionnaire survey and interview,around the four dimensions of class teachers’ teaching workload,class teachers’ work affairs workload,administrative workload,and other burdens,154 class teachers of J County public primary schools were selected for a questionnaire survey,and 10 class teachers,6 school administrators,and 6 students were interviewed.According to the survey results,the burden problems existing in the work of a class teacher in a public primary school in J County,Shandong Province are presented,mainly manifested in the long working hours of a class teacher,the normalization of overtime,the heavy workload of teaching,the biggest headache for individual students’ education,poor communication between home and school,excessive administrative matters unrelated to education and teaching,high economic pressure,difficulty in evaluating professional titles,and high social expectations.Finally,combining with reality,this article analyzes the reasons from the perspective of society,education administrative departments,schools,parents,and class teachers,and from the perspective of education administrative departments to improve incentive mechanisms,carry out accurate and high-quality training,dynamically monitor and analyze the work burden of class teachers,and regulate public opinion.Schools should clarify the responsibilities of class teachers,establish a class teacher care mechanism,improve the evaluation system,and attach importance to the cultivation of class cadres Put forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions on home school cooperation,learning to decompress,and time management.
