Objective: To explore the mechanism of family function,Machiavellianism and interpersonal distress on cyberattack behavior in the sample of junior high school students.Methods: A random selection of 1000 junior high school students in Haikou City completed the self-evaluation of "Family Intimacy and Adaptability Scale-III","Children’s Machiavellian Scale Chinese Revised Edition","Interpersonal Relationship Comprehensive Diagnostic Scale" and "Juvenile Cyberattack Behavior Scale",and the data of 830 valid samples were statistically analyzed using SPSS26.0 software and SPSS Macrocourse PROCESS 4.0.Results:(1)There were significant differences in family functions in grade and time of daily network use among junior high school students(F=3.647,p<0.05;t=6.044,p<0.001).There were significant differences in gender,grade,and time spent using the Internet every day among junior high school students(t=3.374,p<0.01;F=12.377,p<0.001;t=-5.322,p<0.001).There were significant differences in interpersonal distress among junior high school students in grade and time spent using the Internet per day(F=7.590,p<0.001;t=-2.318).p<0.05);There were significant differences in the online attack behavior of junior high school students in grade and daily network use time(F=8.797,p<0.001;t=-6.894,p<0.001).There were no differences in family functioning,interpersonal distress,and cyberaggression by gender,and there was no difference in family functioning,Machiavellianism,interpersonal distress,and cyberaggression in whether or not an only child was born.(2)There was a significant negative correlation between family function and Machiavellianism,interpersonal distress and cyberattack behavior in junior high school students(r=-0.348,p<0.01;r=-0.316,p<0.01;r=-0.248,p<0.01),Machiavellianism and interpersonal distress and cyberattack behavior in junior high school students had a significant positive correlation(r=0.320,p<0.01;r=0.364,p<0.01),and interpersonal distress and cyberattack behavior in junior high school students had a significant positive correlation(r=0.334,p<0.01).(3)Machiavellianism and interpersonal distress play a partial role in mediating between family function and cyberaggression.(4)Machiavellianism and interpersonal distress act as a chain mediator between family function and cyberaggression.Conclusion: Family function affects cyberaggression behavior through Machiavellianism and interpersonal distress,which has a positive effect on the prevention and intervention of adolescent cyberaggression.
