Research On Collaborative Script Design And Practice To Promote Learners’ Learning Engagement In Online Collaborative Learning

With the continuous development of the Internet and communication technology,online collaborative learning has become an important teaching method in the context of "Internet plus Education".However,due to the lack of supervision or the low level of learners’ own collaboration,there are still problems such as low engagement and superficial collaboration when actually carrying out online collaborative learning.As a learning scaffold,script has shown a positive role in promoting online learning engagement in previous studies.Based on this,this study attempts to design and develop specific online collaborative scripts,and study their impact on learners’ behavior,emotion,cognitive engagement and online collaborative learning effect through teaching practice.Based on the systematic review of relevant research at home and abroad,according to the Online Collaborative Learning Theory,Social Constructivism Learning Theory,Zone of Proximal Development and the Script Theory of Guidance,the research has designed a fourlevel collaborative script of Play,Scene,Role and Scriptlet,which defined the objectives and methods of online collaborative learning,constructed four collaborative links of independent thinking,discussion and negotiation,reaching agreement,and review and reflection,and designed four collaborative roles of questioner,discussant,supervisor,and summary,and guide learners to carry out collaborative activities such as observation of collaborative examples,individual independent thinking,clear collaboration plans,group brainstorming,group discussion and negotiation,collaborative problem solving,personal review and reflection.Based on the online learning platform,the study designed and carried out a five-week practical teaching of "Information Technology Teaching Skills" course for the junior education technology major of a normal university in Northeast China,and collected the collaborative discussion text data of learners at different stages.The research uses survey research,social network analysis,content analysis and other methods to process and analyze the relevant data generated in the process of the experiment.Through the sorting and analysis of the questionnaire and interview data,as well as the coding and statistical analysis of the text data discussed by learners,the results of this study are comprehensively obtained..The results show that in this practical study of online collaborative learning,after using the four-level online collaborative script designed in the study,the number and quality of learners’ discussion texts have been significantly raised,the degree of individual participation has been significantly improved,the types of collaborative interaction have been richer,and the level of knowledge construction has been deeper.It can be concluded that online collaborative script can improve learners’ behavior,emotion and cognitive engagement to a certain extent,promote the interaction within the group,optimize the collaborative learning effect of learners to a certain extent,and improve the quality of online learning.At the same time,learners said that they had a good feeling of using the script and could help them actively participate in online discussions.Also,different types of scripts could provide guidance at different stages of collaboration,but there were still areas to be improved.This study explored how collaborative scripts can promote individual learning engagement and collaboration quality in the online collaborative learning process.The research results,to a certain extent,enrich the theoretical achievements in the research fields related to online collaborative scripts and online learning engagement.In addition,practical research has verified the scientific nature and effectiveness of this script,which on the one hand provides a reference for effectively improving learners’ online learning engagement and implementing deep learning strategy research,and on the other hand provides research ideas and references for the design and implementation of online collaborative learning script aimed at promoting individual behavior,emotion and cognitive engagement in the future.
